  11. No wonder. U need to prepare di/ro water beforehand and mix the right amt of salt to achieve correct salinity. Then use a pump or powerhead to aerate the saltwater mix for a day before adding in to your tank during WC.
  12. How do u mix? Using hand only and leave overnight or use a powerhead to aerate the mixture? And some brand of synthetic salt take longer time to dissolve.
  13. Yellow tang is ok, help to eat hair algae on your rocks.

  16. Reducing phosphate in your tank would help. Phosphate is the main source of food for nuisance algae growth. U can do that by adding phosphate absorbing media such as rowaphos. Adding a few clean up crew, e.g. snails, seahare, urchin , would help in eating the excess algae.
