  1. It's ok if u use cheaper brands like aquazonic or hopar. Juz make sure u change them after 6mths cos the intensity dies off easy. Heard it last only 3mths. But it's ur call. ATI bulb cost ard 30bucks, abt double of those aquazonic ones.
  2. If u r the sort that seldom wash ur skimmer's collection cup, best is to use the drain hole in the cup and direct it to a larger container. Helps to deter over flooding.
  3. Looks like a great setup on the way...camping here!!
  4. Actinic will give u more lumi illustration on corals, royal blue for more blueish effects. Best in the market now are ATI ones.
  5. That's not enough to sustain corals. I suggest using at least 2 white and 2 blue.
  6. Ok, how many tubes? And what r the colors u r using? Thanks
  7. What is the light u r using? Seem very dim & blueish.
  8. It is possible but difficult without skimmer. Why not invest in one? What's the reason of going skimmer less? A good skimmer doesn't need to cost much, even a weipro skimmer is better than none.
  9. If u r interested, can come over my place to take.
  10. What is the DIY mini island gonna be use for?
  11. Nice fat healthy looking tang.
  12. If u have other wrasses, not from the fairy family, they might fight & bully the other til death.
  13. Too much PAR i believe. Its ok, I also scratch my head sometimes, they just dun like my tank. lol
  14. Running reef crest random mode. I tried feeding market prawns, mysis & brine but didn't help much. The only successful try is when I did a 80% nsw change, one of my scoly recovered but then I upgraded to radion & it went up lorry. Sian!!
  15. Ok, thanks for the advice. Seem like most fleshy lps can't tahan the intense direct par from led.
  16. Ha ha... I thought so too. Fast hand fast leg.
  17. Ya, my scoly's tissue recede but colors still retained. Some faded a little but more or less colors still there. Actually my cynarina are the lps that are the most hardy & doing the best in my tank compared to Scoly, prata, trachy, lobos etc. I feeding less these 2 wks, in fact I haven't feed them for 2 wks, juz broadcast liquid zooplankton food once a few nites ago. Bro, Dun get what u mean by calcium overdose? My ca levels approx 400-420ppm & my flow seems ok too.
  18. Bro, think u mean 4-6 weeks not mths... Ha ha
  19. No, last time I wasn't keeping sps & my nutrients not that low too but still my lps tissue receded. But I think it was due to other problems then, unstable calcium levels & 1st time using led I suspect. U think I shd increase flow?
  20. Yup, think i know who u r. U the guy that Netviper passed u a sample of reef roid, rite? I have 2 wave makers, strong one, mp40 in front, weak one, tunze6015 at the rear. Mp40 using reef crest mode, using 1/4 of the total speed only. Could it be my tank too low in nutrients?
  21. It all depends on individual esp if its custom made. But I guess it can be any size half the size of the main display tank to 2/3 the size of main DT. Usually ppl will go for bigger sump as more water more stable the parameters in the long run. Yes, I am using a sump. U can see from my signature or check out my tank thread, "My Reefing Chronicles."
  22. Could be due to lighting and parts of the stem where more light is shine on it will be more pink. Some parts maybe lighter or yellowish.
