  1. My best SPS has come from AM. GO for LPS. Maybe everyone has been beating me to GO for the good colorful SPS.
  2. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/video/view/two-part-mixing-use-instructions-video/ Here is a video on bulk reef for mixing instructions:
  3. If the glass is still good (no scratches) and you are happy with it, reseal. I had Vincent from Aquarium Artist build my tank and was pleased with his service and he's just generally a nice guy to work with.
  4. I'd probably do a 5 micron filter, then carbon, then DI and add a RO membrane. With that you should get zero TDS for a long time. I get no PO4 with a similart setup using reef crystals salt.
  5. I second an algae scrubber also. I used one along with good skimmer and filter socks I change every two days. Zero nitrate and phosphate once scrubber had grown some algae.
  6. And don't forget to rise it before you put it in or you will get a lot of carbon dust circulating in you water. Carbon dust is thought to contribute to HLLE in tangs.
  7. Can't tell from the picture, but is there not an RO membrane across the top like in the pic? If there is no RO membrane, you may never get 0 TDS. Other than that, I'd change all three filters in the unit. Look very dirty.
  8. Problem is with the bearings. They can be replaced, but not that easy. Have to disassemble. Only other option is to send back to Ecotech for repair or buy new. Here is some info on the repair if you want to attempt. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1901337
  9. I have reef crystals that is like that. I mixed and tested, and the alkalinity was very low. If you use, I would test alk. Probably best to discard though.
  10. I read that also. Should be extra careful when working with any Zoas. I've felt a tingling in my fingers before when fragging them. The toxic is very strong in some.
  11. I get CoralRx from Madpetz, but bought Revive from Irwana not to long ago. It was in the cabinet behind the register.

  13. I use a dremel/rotary type tool with a cut off circular blade. You will get a better cut than with a hacksaw.
  14. I always start with mysis. If they don't go for that, then the fish is probably sick.
  15. Only place I've seen seahorses is Coral Farm. Not sure if they are the type you are looking for.
  16. You did a good job on the rock work. Time to start adding a few more corals. Recommend you dip all of your corals in a product like Revive before placing them in the tank to minimize the chance of any more pest being introduced.
  17. Algae scrubber is working for me. Not much more maintenance than other methods. Just takes a little time to build one.
  18. Maybe you could try to set the entire pump in a container with vinegar and let it run for a while. I've cleaned a few pumps this way instead of taking them apart.
  19. The long thin hair like strands are from spaghetti worms. Harmless.
  20. Found my clam at Irwana. They have 15 to 20 right now.
  21. I've checked for two weeks. A month ago there were alot in the pool. Now there are only a few that don't look to good and some brown ones. Looking for green or blue.
  22. Bump, has anyone seen any clams lately? Irwana had some a few weeks ago but all of the good ones have been sold.
