I found the answer regarding the lights. I went back to the farm where i got the tank from. They told me that it is impossible to increase the intensity of the light without modifying it. Thus, i will be getting more of the LED spot lights to help brighten the tank. Thanks. Regards, Anonymous2294

UPDATES: My tank has gone through quite a major change. 1) The blue sponges are gone. Decided to give them up because they require quite a bit of care. 2) The green gonios are gone also. Placed them up for adoption because they were doing quite badly in the tank. 3) Added a 6 line wrasse, a purple fish (i donno the name), a purple dottyback, zoas, and some red stuff that takes nitrates (i donno the name). Went to Jireh and the boss recommended me all these stuff. I told him about my concerns with nitrates and he told me not to worry as these things have low bio load. Currently the skunk dottyback has been bullying the wrasse and the purple dottyback. Both of the victims are in hiding and i hope then can be friends soon. 4) Started using additives. Carbonate, magnesium and calcium. The boss at Jireh told me that it will help my corals and coraline to grow. The additives were not that expensive so i bought them. 5) Added a led because i felt that the tank isnt bright enough. Nanyang Seaview had only 1 led left so bo bian i took one only. Planned for 4. I was thinking if i can actually buy more powerful florescent tubes? I am now using Dazs PL-18W. 6) Added a mini filter at the back of the rocks. I stripped the filter leaving only the pump and aimed it at the chaetos. The chaetos are not getting enough flow i guess cause they are not growing fast despite lots of light given. Please advise me on the lighting issue. If possible can also let me know the names of the stuff which i recently bought? Regards, Anonymous2294

Hi. I have a 8 gallon Boyu tank which is about 3 months old. Everything is doing fine except the lighting. I have stocked my tank with lots of hardy corals and there seems to be dark spots in the tank. I feel that it is not very brightly lit so it seems abit dull. I am currently using a Dazs PL-18W light (stock lights). Is it possible to change to a more powerful tube? Regards, Anonymous2294

My tank is currently running on stock lights, Dazs PL-18W. But it seems like its a little too dark. Is it possible to change it to a higher power tube? Regards, Anonymous2294

Hi. Thanks for your suggestions. I have done a little reading about dosing pumps. I think dosing pumps are the best option for me so far. Do you noe where can i get one in SG? Regards, Anonymous2294

I travel overseas very often and in 2 years time, i am doing my NS. I am thinking of diying an auto water top up system for my nano. I looked up on youtube and many people use a float switch. However, reviews have shown that a float switch is unreliable. On the other hand, a better option will be a float valve but a float valve will certainly not fit my 8 gallon nano. Are there any other feasible methods? Heres my 8 gallon nano: PLEASE ADVISE:D THANKS. Regards, Anonymous2294
