  1. lower water level in tank-> less water for fish to swim in-> easier to catch fish
  2. . It is possible. I have done it before, but with an even smaller tank. Of course, upgraded after 6 mts. As they say, the bigger the better. As for hob, since tank is in bedroom or office, you would be better off with a silent one. get the largest possible one too. As for your lightings, par 38 is okay but pricy. I would recommend you spend money on yr filteration than on lighting as you hv a limited budget. For filter media, i would recommend biohome.
  3. Stocking up me old tank after cny Going to be a timid fishies tank only...
  4. Pre cny photos... Zoos doing well after raising no3 and po4... Multiplying fast... On the other hand sps growth still very slow...
  5. Nicname: starfish123 sps id: turquoise orange bn
  6. Normally tips of sps will bleach first b4 pe stops and the centre of colony dies, so not sure what is happening. Can enlighten? Any accurate way to test po4 and no3? I usually need to scrape of diatoms from tank glass abt once a week.
  7. Finally stopped assuming my water paras... No3:1-2.5 Po4:0.00?(why is diatoms still growing?) Measured by salifert test kit (Anything i can do to up the phosphate levels? Suspect i have been controlling my feeding abit too tightly) Now time for me to start guessing why 2 colonies of my wild spses died while most(if not all) of my frags from other reefers tanks have survived and is growing. Hmm...
  8. Not sure abt 500a, but 150a will auto cut off 1 degree below kick in temp.
  9. http://www.fragjunky.com/ If only we could ship this to sg...
  10. cf had many abt 2 yrs back. havn't seen any since then
  11. FTS!! like to see yr scape without liverock
  12. My suggestion... 1. Place your zoos in your other tank 2. Add alot of rowa to this tank to let it absorb the phosphate while leaving the tank without lights. If i am not wrong, hair algae will die cause lack of lights while rowa will absorb all phosphate released from the hair algae dieoff and also any phosphate released from the liverock. 3. Wait till all algae to dieoff and phosphate to hit zero and reintroduce the zoos back into the tank. Not sure if this method will work or not feel free to correct me if it will not.
  13. hi, recently my pair of clowns has started fighting. don't know what is happening. had this pair for 2 years already this is the first time they are fighting so badly. one of them the tail also a bit frayed. question: 1) could this be the result of controlled feeding? feeding pellets on alternate days and mysis once a week. If not , what could the reason be? any suggestions? thanks
