Would just an mp10 be alittle under powered for mainly lps tank for now? Like i must rev it up to higher end of the power to suffice?
-
Hahaha! U can go to liveaquaria.com to look around to see the basic care and description of the corals/fishes u want or may be interested in.

There's some sexy shrimps at ah beng and small cleaner shrimps at ah beng and Aquamarin. -
Hmmm if those good led, i guess average of 8 hours plus minus 1-2hrs or normal daylight hours would suffice. U can google to check what majority usually do then alter accordingly to your needs like coral types and viewing timing. no need to waste electricity for 24hrs even though its led... too much of something will nv be good... hope i helped.

In case u guys still need help with DIY overflow, here's a link to the type im using and yeaa u need a pump to send back water to display...
-
Hmm shouldn't be a cause for worry. Pretty much normal i guess... btw i just remembered that ah beng's shop was using some led for his nano tanks. Can check with him next time when you're there. But that light should only limit you to simple and undemanding corals from my opinions. nice tank!

Ice cubes may be used for emergency but temperature will fluctuate when the ice becomes smaller! try asking reef depot for ice probe. If im not mistaken, there's a couple of peltier cooling equipment around clementi blk 328(c328). Ask the auntie. its like a mini chiller but not as efficient. Hmmm but if cost not worth it for a small tank, then u can continue using fan and like get your mum involved by topping up freshwater prepared and kept in bottles... Hahaha! At least she'll feel more into it...

Need advise on tank equipment setup.

Yeaa sump really benefited me alot too... Tried sumpless when i started out and had lots of problems. Go for canister filter only if you're hardworking(i assumed i was but apparantly not for my freshwater shrimp set up) at cleaning out the filter weekly. Nitrate factory occurs when all that rubbish build up inside. using hs28 1/10hp now with no complains of noise level since its in my room. -
If u plan to use fan, better to on 24/7. Downside of course would be quicker evaporation and fluctuations in parameters due to evaporation. No choice if u want to lower temp. Can look for those ice probe for alternative since yours is a small tank...

Great! How old is that mp10 till now?
-
Hahaha! That's good news! Not even when its on pulse mode or 100% power?
-
Hi bro, saw that u are using mp10. Im planning one for my tank and wanted to ask if the noise can be heard? Say if the tank were in my room. thanks!
-
Hi all, how's the noise produced as it'll be in my room cause i read that noise was an issue especially on higher power and say if im thinking of Mixed reef next time with SPS, would mp10 suffice for it or adding 2 mp10 should be good? My new tank is 3 by 2 feet and with grade 0 sand and rock scaped like the tank on the left side of Aquamarin's door(rocks with caves lined in the middle). Thank u all..

How to tell between live and dead rock?

To add on to what mini-reefer said, before u start buying stuff to just remove the slime, go back to the source of problems like what may cause these red slime which usually means high nutrient levels, too much waste, overfeed, etc. Test your water regularly. Before it starts to get worst, solve it when its still not serious. No fun when i had that and covered my exotic zoas and killed it cause i thought killing the algae would help... dont make the same mistake like i did... search up on red slime and cyanobacteria to find ways to stop these. -
Mod pls close thread. Thank you.
