  1. Hmmm Melafix more of bacterial infection and fungus though... Its just to kill the infection to let the fish heal proper... Doubt it'll solve my irritating parasitic issues.... Hmmm seriously no one so much more experienced than me in reefing able to help me? *desperate mode on*
  2. Hmmm ok i was planning on those strips in sim lim for diy. Anyone has a take on that or experience to share for coral growth as compared to t5 lights? Comparision is 2bulbs t5 2ft fixture which is 48 watts for both bulbs added. If led strips are plausible, please advice on number of bulbs per metre and how many strips and the ratio of white : blue? Thanks all!
  3. Hmm if ur talking abt glass as in ghost shrimp, survival of their larvae require brackish water instead of full saltwater.... Not much info on salinity level of brackish water on internet though...:/ if ur talking abt other types, sorry for the miscomm. Haha!
  4. Jireh has some cured live sand but aragonite is better, do some research to compare and confirm. there's bound to be dirt and stuff in packed ones too... best is still to get some from tank to seed those packed ones as packed ones are sort of unused... That's just my opinion as no one knows how long its in that tank.
  5. Deep sand bed cultivates more of both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. 2-3 inches more to aerobic, rmb reading that aerobic for converting ammonia to nitrite and then anaerobic for nitrate if km not wrong... fishes wise, have to check each of their own characteristics. Sorry... eggcrates is more for preventing rocks from toppling straight and break glass. Recommended but its your call since u work with barebottom before.. Anw with eggcrates or not, best is to stack your rocks then pour in sand...
  6. Hmmm consider any sand digging fishes etc.(finer sand would be better if u have). I would get the packed live sand and alittle from those cured in tanks to jumpstart the bacteria process. 2-3 inches would be good but if u plan for a deep sand bed arnd 5-6 inches at least to cultivate anaerobic bacteria for nitrate but too high not that nice to look also? This is from what i read though... try using deep sand bed in your sump or refugium if u planning to use the sand bed for its bacteria cultivation. hope i helped...

  9. Haha! I was thinking if it grows faster is better cause more nutrients is absorbed for the plants... how much did u paid for your led? How many bulbs per metre?

  13. hi all, as mentioned above, i have been having problems keeping clowns as they keep getting white spots on the whole body and dies days or weeks after. My blue and yellow tangs survived the ich without issues and are clear now but my clowns just dies... Anyone please help? If i do hypo or copper treatment, i would still put the fish into the infected tank after... Really desperate for help... Oh yaa im feeding reef gourmet garlic X, got skunks and tried protomarin coral which i thought worked but just came back again... Sighhh:(
