WTB: External Temp controller with .1 decimal place
Rxcp14 replied to chercm's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
Hmmm not sure abt .1 setting types but u tried sim lim tower(acez instrument) or bioplast? -
Hmmm get a small margarita snail or just 1 cone shape snail(forgot the name but very common)... One layman way of the difference is the black "jacket" meaning the black coverage/shade is more, the proper details you can find are on google...

Try calling aquamarin if irwarna doesnt have...
-
Can try aquamarin also... any size that ur looking at for ur nano? Personal opinion is best to get skimmer if can fit into tank...
-
Pmed! let me know how's ur unit if u plan to get!

hi all, the following review is on a 1/10hp chiller on a 2ft tank... well it started with me having a tight budget on a chiller and internet only has the usual models from hailea/resun. Searched for a few days and saw this rare to find hs-28a.Found out that even with the little info given, most were on the gd side.... Its specs is similar to the common hailea 150A also and is suitable to chill 120L of water maximum. Decided to get it at a LFS khatib/yishun area and test at home... first test was on a bucket of water with an external pump, took abt 10-15mins to chill from aprox 28c to 25c... Was pretty satisfied with its noise which is similar to a low hum which u'll probably notice for awhile and then it goes unnoticed and fan wasn't as noisy at all. Read on more on other forums/websites abt temp sensor problem and inaccuracy very common on china branded chillers and it kicks in too many times so a remedy was to get an external temp probe. I got mine from sim lim tower's basement(acez instrument if any of u plan to get) at only 2 reds, a gd price to pay for added efficiency. I'll add a link below to show how its easily fixed even for an electrician dummy like me. back to the review, aft spending 10-15mins on the simple wire, i hooked it up to eden 522 canister filter with a flow of 1000L/hr max and 1.3m head. Connections are converted from 16/22mm to 12/16mm hose to reduce flow. Chiller's recommended flow is at 250-1200L/hr. As tank is in my room, im quite surprised that its actually more or less the same noise as a computer fan and didnt disturb my slp considering that im a light sleeper. With that temp probe, kick in to kick out timing is arnd 5-10min : 45-60mins. Pretty reasonable i would say. mine came with a 6mths warranty also and its been a week of no problems(fingers crossed). in all, i would recommend this to those who has a tight budget and dont mind a china made chiller. I give it a 3.5 out of 5 in score. The missing 1 goes to efficiency which is expected for price as compared to other brands and 0.5 for having to alter the temp probe. A pretty quiet and smaller footprint and simple designed chiller. available at out sponsor aquarium artist or pm me to find out where i bought it and price... Link to modifying to external temp probe, diff model, same design: http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=470139 Links to pics of chiller http://www.google.com.sg/search?tbm=isch&source=mog&hl=en&gl=sg&client=safari&q=hailea%20hs%2028a&sa=N&biw=320&bih=356#p=0 http://www.google.com.sg/search?tbm=isch&source=mog&hl=en&gl=sg&client=safari&q=hailea%20hs%2028a&sa=N&biw=320&bih=356#p=0 This is a personal consumer review, in no ways am i affliated to any of the above or their partners if any and the link provided is for those with similar brand chillers and need assistance to change the temp probe. Use at own risk!

Canister to chiller pump flow rate
Rxcp14 replied to Rxcp14's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Its for a 2 by 1 tank using shiruba mini canister... Lol! So what i did was to do this flow: tank>filter>external pump>chiller>back to tank... feasible or breakable? Lol!! Any my chiller pump is 1500L on the ground with roughly 40cm to chiller and 1m to tank. Estimated flow of pump to chiller is? -

Hi all, before i start buying the wrong pump or such, my filter flow rate is max at 350L/hr. I was thinking of getting a higher flow pump to connect to the outflow of my canister and to the chiller inlet... Hmm so its intake to canister, out flow of canister to chiller pump and then to chiller intake... Hope u guys can visualise. is this viable or will cause problems? I thought of this so as to lessen number of pipes in tank or its a better idea to have four pipes sticking in the tank with 2 each from filter and chiller? Thanks! Oh yaa and will plugging in a chiller with the below mentioned chiller into a multi plug extension be safe or will it cause a trip? Additional info: 350L/hr filter flow Abt at least 500+L/hr for external chiller pump. 1/15 or 1/10hp chiller Using 12x6mm hose for filter Any inputs with regards to above is appreciated! Thanks!!

Hi how's the efficiency of the mini chiller?
-
Hmmm they are pretty much easy to care for with the required feedings and prefered substrate... all corals do have its own warfare but this is less harmful as compared to other anemones... proper husbandry and carbon will help to lessen chemical warfare...
-
Hi im interested, btw is it a bubbletip anemone?
-
No 2 tanks are similar, so only u can confirm by testing using accurate test kits... test mainly ammonia, nitrite and nitrate... All shld be 0ppm when cycling is done.
-
Hi, is it still available?
-
Tanks sold!! Thanks to the nice bro daniel!
