I think what Fuel means is that whether the LS is labelled with price or not, customers will always look for the cheapest price. got price or no price, customers will still ask for discount. thus he quote the farm scenario afterwards. he didnt mean that customers must pay more for labelled LS. with rgds to this labelling of price thing, honestly I have not met a dishonest LFS in terms of price. if they dont label, then just ask. yes sometimes they anyhow whack price cause stocklist too long to rmb but in actuality ill let you in on this that they base it on the standard price of this particular LS that they have been selling for yrs. eg if u went ah beng 2 years ago, last year, today tmr next year, most prob small emperor 10-15, med 35 lg 55 whether u ask spider, ming or ah beng himself. this happens eventho their COS has risen throughout the year. this happens alot to their own thurs shipment so sometimes not labelling price does bring benefits to consumers as well. yes its better for newbies to see the price labelled. but even with price labelled also the opportunity to chop newbies is always there. if I want to chop newbies, I'll just label a higher price. what's gona stop me? its their business literally to do what they want. but in my short time reefing, seriously I have not met a dishonest LFS. they know what once they start chopping people, that marginal short term gain is not gg to match long term losses. pls know one thing, farms here especially are running in a very tight competition where prices have a false ceiling. their gpm is getting smaller as the year pass by.

Important : once u dose copper, u can never keep anything else except fish. Nothing else will survive. Its a route of no return. Dose copper = FOWLR forever. Even if u use carbon, water change until ur back break, so as long as u use the same rocks, there will always be a small amount of copper that will harm inverts like corals/shrimps/snails even if ur copper test kit shows 0. So to answer ur question, macro algae will most likely die. Pls consider carefully before dosing anythin into main tank. Usually ppl will dose copper(Cupramine) and prazi. Prazi is the one that will make ur skimmer go crazy. But Prazi is okay to dose when u have corals. Only those tubeworms/featherduster may or may not die.

How long u gona keep fishes in the quarantine tank? If u dont intend to keep them in QT for min 4 weeks, might as well dont run the QT and waste money/time/electricity/nagging by parents. Dont get me wrong but im trying to save u the effort in running the QT esp u mentioned ur parents not so happy about it. Its not a good advice on my part since QT is necessary but having a half baked QT routine is worse than having none since : 1)QT water quality fluctuates quickly if not maintained 2)Fish end up being more stressed due to this 3)they dont eat, u try feeding them more which without due care, u go back to (1) 4)if fish bulletproof, never die by (3), the fish eating well, ur parents will start taking an interest in ur fish and instead now nag that its so sad the fish in the small QT thus u move it to main tank before min. 4 weeks, u just wasted all ur effort since that fish can still carry parasites to your main tank. 5) if u really do 4 weeks, means for 4 weeks cannot go lfs liao. Go confirm itchy especially its a new tank, come back home with new fish. The moment u put the fish in QT, clock restart. End up about 5-7 weeks no fish in main tank. 6) to solve (5) u consider buying many fish at one go. But QT small, either cannot fit or water in QT goes back to (1). 6) sooner or later, the QT will be dismantled. Personal experience and that's why now my main tank is my QT, my hospital tank, my only tank. With regards to the emperor, I would say easy bordering on medium. Impt thing with emperor is the bigger it is, the more time u need to let it settle down. Once u see patches on its body, means ur water something wrong. This one my master teach me. HTH

Hmm, I dont mean to promote this fish or underestimate their difficulty but if Jireh can get them to feed on pellets, easily 7-8 of them in one holding tank, I think its more to do with sustaining them long term than getting them to eat. Pass on this fish, keep ur sps. Do not even contemplate that u could be lucky with a corallivore. Its like putting a chicken and a cucumber in a lions den and expecting the lion to eat the cucumber.

Unless ur tank is super big and filled with many many sps, dont keep this fish with sps. Even if its eating pellets, it will still go after sps. Just like if u were to put mock beef and wagyu beef, likelihood of people choosing the latter is 100% unless they're vegetarian.

Mix green chromis with a few springeri damsel. One of the few damsels that ime do well in a group. The green iridiscent colour of the chromis with the blue/black of the damsel will be nice. Add a few blue eyed anthias and u hv a nice group of colours and fishes.

Bro u missing out on the second floor shops in terms of fishes. Btw for fishes availability and prices, hk is definitely better. For eg, a small marginalis butterfly cost abt SG$30 there which u can never get here since demand there will always be high and market there highly competitive. Equipments wise better to get from sg even if its cheaper marginally. Local warranty is king. For the reagents and test kits, yep better buy them there by the dozens lol. If u fancy anything acrylic, got a few shops that can make for u. They even hv pre-made ones.
