  1. Dip the food in Garlic Guard then feed him.....some fishes come out and eat in the dark though..........
  2. U have fishes?..........Wrasse in particular???...... there was once where ICH wipes out all my fishes in the tank.........then I wait out to "recycle" the tank to clear the ICH for 6 weeks.........during this time, there were a lot of "white ants" trying to eat quite a lot of my LPS.........then I bought many wrasses to eat them and then problem settled...........
  3. Where is ML??? Can I ask???...........anymore exotic LFS available???............
  4. where u stay???......... the blue tang for sale?
  5. What is your nitrate level???........... u have fishes in the tank???.........I would move the pratas temporarily on the rocks first......... My experience with prara is :- 1) it is pretty sensitive to nitrates..........my prata used to not open when Nitrates is high........ 2) My prata died when my chiller broke down while I am in Taiwan.........temperature shot from 25 Deg C to 31.4 Deg C.........it literally melt........anyway I saw sand in the mouth also, it happens when the prata is dying and not able to close up to prevent sand from entering........ Anyway, your prata is expensive stuff!!!............ from Golden Octopus???............
  6. I have 2 boxes full of them............ make an offer...........
  7. How big is the diameter? I am keen............
  8. Bro, What is the size? Not the small type available in LFS? If its big type, can reserve for me? Thx.
  9. I think it is normal........but I did whack in Seachem Calcium Advantage dissolved in water from 360ppm to 460ppm........and dkh drop to 11 after that...........
  10. Hi All Bros, From my experience, I feel that prata is the best indicator whenever Nitrates has shot up........They will not open whenever nitrates is up.......... it happen when my fish died under the rocks........... Does anyone have experience on which LPS will react upon the slightest spike in nitrates? Thanks.......
  11. Hi All Bros, My 2 brain corals have not been opening up. Parameters are ok so far. I saw some relly small "silver fish" on the sand around the base of the brain as well as the rock the brains are attached on......... What are these silver fishes? Are they the reason why my brain corals have not been opening up? Any way to get rid of the pests? Thanks......
  12. Hi All Bros, Just to share some experience....... My marine tank has been infested with ICH and my marine tangs have been dying 1 by 1 everyday......... 2 days ago, I measured my nitrate and it was 40ppm.......I did 3 pails of seawater change for my 5 x 2.5 x 2.5 tank and the nitrates went down to 20ppm which is still high......... Anyway, I am so used to my nitrates being high ever since my fishes start dying......was in the midst of ordering an algae scrubber to get rid of the nitrates...... Then yesterday afternoon went to Ah Beng at Pasir Ris.......bought 2 purple slugs and 2 rocks with hugh patches of grasses on them (i duno what that but it is not chaeto).......I also bought a red stonefish from the Ng couple in front......... When I put them all in at about 6pm yesterday, I thought everything was for astetics purpose.......since I cannot buy any fish due to ICH and my 2 SPS just died from me "recontructing" the liverocks......... Today evening at 8pm, I came back from work and found that my water is unusually clear......and my green prata is especially big today........my prata is usually a good indicator of when my nitrates has shot up (whenever any fish died under the rocks, it will not open)........ Then I took out my Nitrates test kit and found that nitrates has gone down to 0 ppm!!!.........I was shocked....... I look around and found that the green grass on the rocks has turned all green (I mean there were some white patches of white grass among the green ones)........and the algae at the back water column (water return pipe back to sump) has been reduced tremendously....... Perhaps there was help from the fact that there was no sun for these 2 days.........but one thing is for sure, I think the grassy rock did a miracle for me..........perhaps I should buy some more from Ah Beng tomorrow....... I have chaeto inside the tank too but there isn't much help after 1 week.....bought some nitrates liquid remover which is also useless after 1 week........ 1 other side effect is that my huge Elegance has shrunk in a weird manner today (used to be 3 palm size) and the tentacles of the hammers are all drooping........ PH = 8.2 CA = 430 ppm Magnesium = 1170 ppm KH = 11 dkh SG = 1.023 Nitrites = 0 Nitrates = 0 Daily diet = 2 cubes of mysis, 2 cubes of brine shrimps, 3 cubes of rotifiers........ There is only 1 stone fish in my tank now.......intend to wait out 1-2 months before buying my favourite Archilles Tang again.........it was sad to see my $450 AT died from ICH 2 weeks ago..........
  13. Hi all Bros, Does nudibranch eat clams? I saw the meaty edges of the clam being chipped off and I saw a pink nudibranch sticking on the edges of the shell as well.............
  14. Mario, 25 Deg C from Artica chiller.........
  15. better not buy Nemo........mine was dead after some time fromm too much Nemo playing.........
  16. Got some kits to test today........ Mg = 1125ppm Ca = 360ppm I have added Seachem Calcium Advantage to boost these 2 parameters......but the ICH is so tough...........
  17. and I read somewhere on the internet that KH has to be minimum 240ppm for reef tanks.........
  18. My other tangs have been having ICH for some time.........a few have died so far including PBT today........parameters are ok so far..... The plate (which is bigger than 2 palm size) are already on a flat LR on the sandbed which is extremely low flow.......I have sump tank but I thot Plates need lights? I did not install any ligts in the sump.......
  19. Another opposite strip across the plate also have this problem now........
  20. Thank you to all bros for advice. I am using API KH test kit for measuring. To be frank, I need to add 14 drops to the solution to get thee result and to all bros who are familiar to this kit, 14 drops is already off scale. The max nbr of drops is 11 drops based on the colour scale. Any advice further?
  21. Hi All Bros, My 3 coral plates (1 extremely very big) are very healthy for the past 2-3 weeks........... Suddenly today, I saw my very big plate coral have a depleted patch with a narrow strip of slime coat on the depleted section (pic 26). My 2nd smaller coral plate also retracted badly (pic 27) while my 3rd unit seems perfectly ok. Can any bro advise what's wrong? I did some checks and found 1 small yellow pointed boxfish dead in the sump. I heard that the dead boxfish do excrete poisonous toxins when dead? Is that the root cause? I have already removed it. My specs is as follows : - 5 x 2.5 x 2.5 ft tank PH : 8.2 KH : 250ppm Nitrite : 0 Nitrate : 10ppm SG : 1.022 Also based on the above specs, is it ok for the acropora to survive? I do notice one acropora has hairy strands on it while the other acropora has strands only on the purple tip......... Thanks.......
  22. Hi All Bros, Quite a newbie here.......Need some advice..... I have an acropora with a red "pincer" in it which sometimes extend out the get some food.........Does this pincer belong to the coral itself? Also, from the picture, is my acropora healthy? Thanks........
  23. I have bought 1 piece and thot it died in the rocks until 1 day I decided to move the rocks around and saw it alive.......the way they hop around is cute.......there was once I saw it stick out 1 long tongue to support itself on the glass wall while hanging about a few inches above sandbed.......erm.....I din target feed anything.......
