i am also using api test kit for no3. i cant get a reading of zero. tap water is 10 to 20. distilled 5 to 10.

yup, mine is running at maximum output.. i tried it without the fan and it gets warm (can still touch with no problem).

please see attached pic.. take note i just put the string there at the middle for fail safe reason.. i am really concerned that the hanging kit cable slips and the whole thing ends up inside the tank. the thing on the corner of the fan are blue tacks nope. i don't think regular AC/DC adaptor is enough to light up these LEDs. unless your adaptor can produce the output as the LED driver.

hi bros, i highly recommend to put a fan on the drivers! what i did is put the drivers on the heat sink secured by zip ties then rest the fan on top of the driver. led and driver both running so much cooler now.

hi bros, do you guys think the LED driver needs to be mounted on the heatsink? Right now I put the drivers inside the sump cabinet because I am scared the thing falls into the tank . It is quite warm when touched. Btw, how you guys mount the driver on the heatsink properly?

hi bros, i noticed the led driver that comes with the 24 led and 36 led kit is the same. does this mean that the output light for both is the same? basically the 24 led is brighter and 36 led runs dimmer but since you have more leds on the 36 led kit the effective output is same as the 24 led kit?

hey bro, actually i am really eyeing the 14F.. really that bad?? i think RIO can not be run outside the sump. how cheap you want to sell it?

I am also looking for a pump and Rio really caught my attention due to it's low price, low power consumption and high output. But after doing some googling around I discovered a lot of problems like overheating, melting, impeller stuck. But those were like 2002, 2003 threads. Can some recent users feedback on Rio pumps especially those using it for more than a year? For the other pumps you mentioned I think the price is almost the same for the same performance so I suggest stick with Eheim. I am Eheim user on 2ft for 1 year now without problems. But I am still searching for a new pump for my planned 4ft.

if it is eating better just leave it in the main tank. moving to another tank will just stress it more. mine is still eating like a pig so i leave it alone. i noticed the ich only comes out in the morning
