  1. yes, don't need cotton. If you want to know more, go ML to look at their display tank. same concept applies.
  2. throw away the cotton, it will filter away beneficial nutrient back to the tank. Bio-ball can maintain (to establish a colony of good bacterial to eat away those nitrite) but nitrate will build up. Anyway, not to worry. Ur 6 inches DSB + refugim should able to counter it.
  3. Hi, I have this pair of golden maroon clown for almost 2 yrs. Recently, they started to lay eggs on the LR and few days later it turn to fries. But the problem is the fries will soon gone either eaten away or suck by the overflow. Just few days back, I put a clean scallop shell near their nest and today, they laid eggs onto the shell. Can anyone advise how to keep the fries alive ? :>
  4. hi, do i need to feed the hammer or they can survive by itself ? Is hammer consider as SPS (hard coral) ?
  5. Managed to get the white ribbon eel to eat. I cut a 5 cents size prawn meat and place it near it mouth. Immedately, she opens it wide mouth and swallow the prawn meat.....Kind of interesting to watch...
  6. hi, anyone got experience in keeping eel ?
  7. it is along old choa chu kang road leading towards qian hu. i don't have the exact address. That time, i went there to search for koi for my office and came across that tank manufacturer. Quite deep inside....
  8. $350 !!! If I have to buy, I will only offer 50% less the orginal price. Stuff like fish tank has low resale value regardless how long you own it. High resale value are like chiller where demand is high, esp if the chiller is of reputable brand like TECO. Tank....can go straight to the manufacturer to design and build. I bought my 3ft with marine tank specification with sump and cabinet and all piping set up at $400. The tank manufacturer is at old choa chu kang road....
  9. but not for this case. Just recalled my poor old friend recently just sold off his 2 tier 4 ft tank plus free 15 cm red tail arowana altogether at $200.
  10. Regardless 1 mth or 1 day old.... as long as it is 2nd hand. It should be value at 2nd hand rate. At least 50% off the original price.
  11. Roidan, Personally, I felt that you should go for a 80% reef and 20% fish on your 6ft tank. Transfer all your good stuff from your 4ft to save some $$$. Invest a good chiller for the coral. Basically, focus all your energy to make the 6ft tank your No. 1 tank. As for the 4ft, use it as stand by first, may be just keep some predator fishes. And once your budget is widen, then start to invest the 4ft tank.
  12. Good buy. Bought mine 2nd hand from Cookiemunster. Noise level is low.
  13. hmm.... may be next time when time to upgrade my digital cam. I will get you guys involved. Definitely can provide great support fire and ask for big bargain....ha ha ha... Hopefully can ask for 70% discount from the new price.
  14. I'm using the that too. I think u got to adjust the flow rate. I think i open the valve slightly to allow minimum water and the result is good. For instance, whenever i buy new LR or fish die. The skimmer will produce thick semen and lots of bubble. The minus point is, i think it only support up to 3 ft tank.

  16. Sounds good.... so must start to find landlord now....ha ha.
  17. Welcome comments. Nothing is perfect is this world. Is all narrow down to risk taking. How much risk to take is depending on your financial backing. I don't think my price is steep as the condition is as good as a virgin. Do you want to pay for this camera for 400 but with all hidden defects or do you want to pay for a reliable item which give you a peace of mind ?
  18. Billy, Thanks for advise. Is ok, I'm not in a hurry to sell. If no body wants, I will still use it. No lose lose situation.
  19. Hi, I brought up this topic as I forsee this will be my potential problem in the next 1 to 2 yrs. Can anyone that had already encountered this problem and solved it successfully, please throw in your suggestion here. Ok the problem is : when you shift to a new home with new tank set up, how to migrate your existing marine tanks live stock, corals, LR...etc to the new home? Not forgetting that the new tank need to go through another cycle..... Is there any profeesional mover on marine stuff ?
