Hi,Sherman.tks.heed ur advise and remove some of the rock with algae,and cautiously get some small live and dead rocks to rescape again. Very tedious work.

Ur water wil only have certain smell (dead matters from live rocks,etc) during cycling stage only.under normal circumstances,the water will not have any smell.
