  1. After putting the chiller slanted, removing part of the black mesh on the back of cabinet to prevent the introduction of static pressure, fabricating a box up for the chiller's exhaust, Putting a boxer fan under the chiller intake, the chiller is able to function efficiently. Preliminary the chiller can stay inside the cabinet without introducing heat to the sump & operate "properly". The downside is I need to rotate the chiller straight to take out the filter mesh for cleaning. Received my pub bill for Jan, the 1st bill after setting up. It was abt $108. My bills normally averages around $130-$150. So quite astonish. will continue to monitor the power consumption. The equipment differences were my DIY 80watts led to radion 130watts, and 1xehiem1262 to 2xreef Octo pump. So it doesn't make sense to me. The rate of evaporation is quite astonishing as well. The top up tank of 18litres need to be top up abt every 5 days.
  2. Hi bro. Somehow can't post on my iPad n note. Found out why now. Ah beng is in the direction towards iwarna. When u reach the t junction, turning left is pinnacle, right is iwarna. So when u turn right, look to your right while u drive along. Look for the 2nd entrance. Then turn in. After u turn in, there is a carpark on your right. U may park there. There is a dragonfish store just besides the carpark. Ah beng store is diagonnally of this store. U can just walk in between the rows of buildings n u definitely won't miss it.
  3. I've tried the api on previous tank with lps n fishes. No problem. u need to follow the regime. U will see the results in abt 3 to 4 wks. The algae will not disappear by itself. U need to siphon them out. the api just kill the hair algae n makes it extremely easy to siphon them out as it seems their "roots" no longer anchor to the substrate. If u read the wordings. Theres a clause for californian states blah blah blah cancer causing.... so wash yr hands real clean!! I was at my last resort as the hair algae almost change my reef tank to planted tank
  4. If u r adventurous, u can open up the casing & look at the fan type. Can go to Sim lim tower & buy a replacement maybe. Else u can call aquatechnik at Kallang. I did call them b4 & they only service RA models, not TR or TC. 63480048.
  5. sorry for late reply bro. I tried natural mode, if never set the water depth which set the bluish, light is like 10k white. Even i tried setting water depth to deepest, still look white as compared to artificiak mode. am now bck artificial mode. Maybe other radion users can comment
  6. J mine is also same expiry batch as wilson's leh. The paper instructions really says 2 drops. For low resolution either 1 drop nia or test water is 2ml instead of 4ml. Read a few times never see a no. 4 word except for the test water nia.
  7. So long no check yr lugguage, no packaging n price tag ok. Just like sg pple go jb or jb pple come sg, take away packaging of goods. U can argue friend give.
  8. Bad news from HDB.Confirmed from HDB that can't install anything on the ledge. Sort of gd news is old model Teco TR15 with 1 fan, can add another fan. The power connector is already there. So why don't they put 2 fans in the first place??? So Teco TR15 users take note. There is this minor upgrade. Adding a 2nd fan to the chiller.... Followed website instructions and removed the cover. Original single fan. There is a black plate which I already took off to facilitate the installation of the 2nd fan. With the 2nd fan, there is an obvious improvement to the chilling ramp down time. But still under monitoring. After reading about static pressure of the fan & still trying to put chiller inside cabinet, decided to rotate the chiller such that the 2 fans face the cabinet opening. I have also removed one of the 20cm coolmaster fan as it will induce a static pressure & hot air will have difficulty moving out. (Based on the theory on the internet). So the hot air is solely evacuated by the 2 fans of the chiller. Looks odd though. But so long as there's enough space to put a doser will do. There is an intake hole under the chiller. I've installed a 12" boxer fan under it to increase the air intake. Damn the flow is strong. Much stronger than the 20cm coolmaster. I still make a vertical board that directs the hot air out thru, instead of allowing it to circulate inside the compartment. Damn. Thought I already edit & rotated the pic.... how come some pic ok some not... Chiller under monitoring. Fabricated a acrylic stand from Yin Kwang for the skimmer. This will raise the skimmer to the recommended 20-23cm water level.
  9. Size abt 2-3 cm estimated. Eat everything. Selfish, 3x3 tank size dun wan share share. Interested pls call 96884500. Pls bring own container. Collrction bukit panj.
  10. So yrs also 1 fan? Im suspecting tat with 2 fans the cooling efficinecy would be better.
  11. mind if i ask around when u bought it? Yr casing is white or grey? Cos i remember i went seaview n saw a guy bought a tr5 but casing is white.
  12. Ya bro. U have some tips for it? I know there are a few sizes of compressor, I'm not sure for my tank capacity, how much HP should I get.
  13. Hi, wish to find out if yours has 1 fan at the back or 2. Cos I accidentally notice US sites show 2 fans. Thanks.
  14. Thanks for all the info and chiller exhaust. After all the studying, think I got confused, never study on fan principles. I always look at fan specs when actually I want a high exhaust rate then blowing rate. Seems tat static pressure of a fan is also very important. So if the teco's fan has a low static pressure, then there can never be a box up modification at the back of the chiller. So the exhaust part of the chiller must be as free of "obstacles" as possible for max efficiency of chiller. Therefore I need to find a strong fan with high spec on sucking, not blowing.... though in "certain scenario" both means the same... As usual, still waiting for the HDB officer to call me back on the ledge installation...
  15. Bought 2 new pieces of LR & added to enhance current structure, ehancing the 1080p of character 八。This portion will be for softies due to lower light. This is another view. With the added LR, it created/enhance the path down the underflow. Going to plant waving types coral on both sides. Another view My newly found love. Been trying to find out the actual species of these 2. Both look like sun. But the white is singular stem. The orange is branching. Read a website on sun corals that unless u break apart a sunny & look at the bone structure then will only be able to know its type.... Going to frag this soon. Find that the cup size too big. Almost 1hand cannot grab....
  16. Hi bro, where did u get yr compressor fan? those hardware shops? Does it look more like... I got this off a website. But I guess mine is a cabinet, not building, so the units cannot be used... else the fan would be bigger than than fish tank... heh heh. The most effective way to lower the temperature inside buildings is to fit extractor fans to expel the superheated air from the roof space. What size fan is needed? To calculate the size of extractor fan, work out the area of the roof and multiply by 0.7. If the outside surface of the roof is dark coloured (dark colours absorb the suns heat very efficiently) add 15%: Airflow of extractor fan (CFM) = length of roof (ft.) x width of roof (ft.) x 0.7 If the roof is dark: Airflow of extractor fan (CFM) = Airflow of extractor fan (CFM) x 1.15 Just called HDB & they will be getting the technical officer to get back to me regarding the installation at the ledge. So yr compressor fan looks more like 2nd pic?
  17. Don't have an idea how a titanium coil looks like. I guess there's a supply cooling tube going into the coil & then out of the coil there's another tube that goes back to the compressor? My tank & aircon ledge is opposite each other. So I guess if I install the compressor at the aircon ledge, then the 2 tubings will cut across the walkway. So the only way is to install the compressor near/same side as tank. There's a ledge at the living room outside the full ceiling height window. Any idea the compressor can be installed there? Gonna call HDB & find out tomolo. My wifey does not agree to have the compressor installed within the living room.....
  18. Will try to do a mod for the 1 hole for the chiller's fan. My cabinet is not sitting against the wall due to my living room wall is slanted, so gonna give last shot before moving chiller out of cabinet.
  19. I proposed to my wifey that I moved the action outside & shifted all my tongkat Alis, Penny pump & measurement kits into the chiller compartment & I shift the chiller out. Currently my fishy stuffs occupying some shelves in my kitchen cabinet. So I can free up the space for her.... But wifey wants the "C" to be in the "C" leh. She not used to outdoor action. Going to acrylic shop later to fabricate my skimmer stand & a piece of acrylic to cover up the intake hole for my chiller.
  20. Saw 1 at giant Vivocity in the fan department. Quite cute & small. Was thinking to install at my dog house. Price about $10 plus
  21. Ever since the chiller was swapped to the new tank, didn't notice it ran at all, probably due to the super cool weather. Got a fish thermometer from Daiso & installed inside the chiller compartment inside the cabinet. It was reading 28degC. Then came 1Jan 2012. Weather gets warm. Heard my chiller running & decided to take a look. Damn! When the door was opened, a hot gash of air came out. Read the thermometer & 42degC!!!! Thought that my back of the cabinet is "open concept" & with 2 fans pulling near the exhaust of the chiller, it should be according to plan. SMLJ.... Decided to try out kamasutra pattern 1. Kamasutra pattern 1. Modified a partition that will contain the hot air & direct it to the 2 exhaust fan. Had read some where that using those circular air ducts will have no use as there are restrictions to the airflow. So came out with a box up pattern like for our car. Confidently installed. Kamasutra pattern 1 Closed up the partition. Did this mod yesterday evening. By then, never see the chiller run..... until I came home this evening.... and... chiller thermostat at 29degC but chiller compartment is 32degC. Though the chiller compartment temp is low, somehow I guess the hot exhaust air from the chiller is finding hard to get out as the chiller thermostat is staying at 29deg for a long time. So I opened both the doors of the chiller compartment & monitor the chiller thermostat. Sadly, it stays at 29degC for very very long. Put a small room fan blowin the front of the chiller. The chiller thermostat didn't feel like budging either. It was only after I "opened" up my modded partition & within half hr, the chiller thermostat drop by 1 Deg, from 29 to 28deg. All this while I have a external thermometer that I put inside tank & monitor the temp. The conclusion is the exhaust of the chiller must be facing the "open concept" hole then it can be placed inside a cabinet. Going to try out Kamasutra pattern 2 by rotating the chiller & have the chiller exhaust facing my "open concept" hole & see the temp ramp down timing. If not, other options would be removed the door facing the back of the chiller & install a mesh. Or put the chiller outside & can make use of the space inside the chiller compartment.
