Been reading regarding chiller efficiency. Not sure if these info have been shared here. Might help you to decide whether should u get a chiller/upgrade chiller. Justify to your CO that it is worth it. Using the numbers to confuse her.... coral farm has some at the tanks where Xmas worm rocks are.

I've search the web n found the closest to it is rastafarian. but the yellow part is sunken in, mine is like a flower bud pic of rastafarian I got off a web. also chalice has these circular mouths. but mine don't have. I have another coral tat should be a chalice.

Intake n exhaust of chiller r both important. It affects the chiller's efficiency. Need to make sure the exhaust air is fully isolated from circulating back inside the chiller compartment. Else some of intake air is exhaust air. When tat happens, a 1/4hp chiller might become a lower hp chiller. Not fully utilizing chiller. Question to myself is how come aquarium chiller chilling time increase much when ambience temp increase by just 1 deg... Then u wan to find excuse to upgrade to compressor..... Hahaha

Yes, uk. I've run thru all the big supermarts, diy shop and lighting shops at jurong east. Only left balestier area not been there. The ones sold at lighting shops are similar to the power pac . As my par38 bulb is umbrella shaped, it can't fit into the power pac. I was prepared to buy and later saw off the metal case of powerpac but later discovered that the clip is in an off angle. Only Top half of the neck can be bent. So the light will be very close to the water or not able to direct at the water. Tats my visualization of the powerpac fixture. For this fixture, the neck is vertical and the light angle can be adjusted very freely over the water, though this need to be proven when I get the fixture. But based on the sellers answer to mine, I feel it should serve my needs. My CO likes my hobby too and she thinks the tank should look aesthetically pleasing. no doubt it is overprice, but if u can't find any nice design in the market n It justify my purchase, furthermore I can't leave my new par bulb unlit.

r u in artificial mode? I think only artificial mode can have cloud n storm. if the led on tell radion is blue then it is natural mode , green mode is artificial. press n hold center button to switch mode. if not go to ecotech marine n post yr problem there. during nite mode if u wan to turn on light I'm not sure how. maybe try follow manual n try the override button sequence

I've used jbj online chiller selection auto calculation. tank volume 115gal. sump volume 35gal. actual current water temp is 92F desired temp is 80F. not sure how much heat from lights n return pumps. So I just put 130watts for light n 120 Watts for return pumps. power head which is vortech I put 0 Watts. strange tat the website recommended 1/5hp chiller. is this correct? thanks!!

u using one of the jbj commercial unit? the 1/2hp looks nice. the size is quite small too.

do u have experience on a 1/3hp chiller used on a 4ft tank aka abt 600 liters of water takes how long to cool down 1degC? my current temp setpt is 27.5. it start to run when thermostat shows 28.5deg. takes abt 1.5hr to cool to 27.5. is this normal? not sure if anyone experiment n record down the chiller ramping time n calculate if the energy efficiency rate is linear. eg. if u keep increasing the chiller hp and will it reach a point whereby increasing the hp does not really translate to energy efficiency. instead choosing an optimal hp will give more bang for Buck.

Has anyone used this before? Is it noisy? How is it compare to JBJ 1/2hp unit n commercial 1/2hp unit? Am using a teco tr15. Am looking at teco tr20 or JBJ commercial unit 500B. Consulted my CO n installing a compressor unit at living room window is OOQ. There's no way to install the compressor at my service balcony n route it all the way to my tank too. Thanks.

I got them quite ex though. $141, including changing out 6 white led to blue, but i wanted more led. aldo saw a big one with 15leds. but thats a bit huge. You can also replace some led with uv type. but am afraid of the health hazard involved. shop demo one with all uv, it is really nice. in sim lim, all led bulb in some form of white, no market to have all blue bulb or other colorful ones. So if u want other combi u need pay to amend it. here are the photos. never stock up much. want to stock up slowly. I wanted to keep some sea fans, lps n sps together. So trying out experimenting different angle flow to see how the sea fan response. the pics look dim but actual fact is quite bright, wouldn't want to disservice the radion.

oic. u mean like the woman in green in super low cut valley ah? run IKEA,courts n giant all can't find those e27 clamp holder. finally found at homefix, powerpac brand. but too bad can't fit in due to the neck of the clamp holder too long So can't screw in the bulb. side view of lamp. can visualize the heatsink get obstructed by the lamp holder body? installed on standing lamp. see the dark area on the liverock? dark area brightened up.

saw this at sim lim n decided to try it, 9 leds e27 socket. initially all the led r white, had the shop person to change out six to blue. will be going IKEA to buy the light stand later. A few weeks before while am overseas, my radion fan kaput and caused the led to auto turn off after a while due to heat protection, casualties are the birdnest sps given to me during "reefsystems share a frag" n a chilli pepper monti from Cedric. Thankfully Ken frm Madpetz loaned me his demo set while he order new fan to repair my radion.

I think so long the pipe size is same, u dun need get identical one. Madpetz has these type of ball valve. Or u wan look for reef Octo distributor span aquarium.
