  1. Best method is to reduce the PO4 and NO3 in the tank ........
  2. This method is not for live corals, I guess it is for live rock without corals. Except there is some risks. do one rock at one time as as to prevent too much changes to your bacteria population and clean it properly with water after bleaching........ By the way, where to buy hydrogen peroxide in Singapore? Need any license? Low concentration <3% or less may be available. http://forums.vr-zon...n-peroxide.html http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum/showthread.php/65990-Hydrogen-peroxide-35
  3. Anyone try this to remove green hairline algae?
  4. US $30,000 for that fish, Do you want to buy?? Yes, if I am very rich. But I think public aquarium should buy it. [\video]
  5. Tank: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Maxspect plus sump and piping (not connected at all): Uploaded with ImageShack.us Tank and light, I brought at $400 now I am selling at $250 for tank and $100 for light. Never used since brought. BM skimmer is in the new in box, nothing to take picture about. Selling at $110. All prices are fixed. Not make money... in fact loss money, so no low-ball roller and no 780 pilot (big and heavy....) I need to sell all the items at one go. Or take individual items, but must sell all. Reversed the right to not to sell if could not sell all items.
  6. I think it is not available in the LSF here. Please you need one urgently, I can sell one to you at $17, collect at Tampines. PM me if you need it.
  7. Look complex! In the market, there are two temperature controllers that you can buy. One is very good, similar to the temperature controller you brought. Good thing is it is without DIY.risk. And best of all, it is about $50, I guess this cost is cheaper than your DIY cost. I suggest those who are not trained, please do not DIY. In an environment with water and salt, it becomes more dangerous.
  8. I have a complete set, change of plan for this moment, need to sell. 1. One 40 cm cube tank with sump and cabinet- brand new 2. Bm nac 3.5 skimmer - brand new 3. Max spect g1- 60w. - used. Looking for a reasonable offer. Pm your offers to me only. Separate sales is possible if there are takers for all the items. Thanks
  9. Normally no problem to mix the butterfly with angel. Initial when introduce butterfly to tank with angel, there is some form of bullies not really fight, stop after a few days. After that, I never see the fight between the angel and butterfly. Only saw the fight between the banner butterfly and the purple tang. Maybe closer in shape as compare with angel.
  10. My view is it is possible to add more fishes, but need to 1. Have a good skimmer. 2. Do weekly water changes. 3. Have a fr to remove nitrate. 4. Feed them with good mix of foods. I have more fishes than you. All doing very well.
  11. Normally, tangs fight more aggressive between the same type in term of shape, color, pattern, etc. such as pt, yt, brown tang and abt will tend to fight among each other. Pbt, powder brown tang, white creek, AT form the other group. Sohal, clown tang another group, and so on... So when put the same group of tangs, there is high chance of fighting. In long run, the fight is between the yt and pt, not the pbt.
  12. I used kanaplex from seachem, to solve pop eye, fin rot... It is good for bacterial inflection and some fungus inflection. Just mix with the food to let the fish eat the medicine. Throught feeding, it is very effective as compared with the dosing in the water. If ich, then used a qt with cupramine, as it is a parastic inflection, different from bacterical inflection. Please take note bacterical inflection can be two type in general, the internal and external bacterical. Kanaplex is for external Bacteral inflection. For internal, try any medicine that contain metronidazole. See www.seachem.com for information.
  13. Thanks Thomas. I read that in the internet, they are aggressive towards similar look fish. You are right this also apply to all type of fishes, not just butterfly. In general, butterfly are more peaceful than angels and tangs. But more hard to feed...
  14. Thanks for all the advises. Butterfly fishes are very beautiful and are more peaceful fishes. Presently I have two butterfly fishes, black pyramid and klein butterfly in the main tank for more than 3 months eating pellets. Lost one threadfin butterfly , just stopping eating after one month. Have another banner butterfly in the qt. Want to learn more on butterfly fishes.....
  15. It will not work, it is the same as operating with one chiller, once the pump fails, it is the same as chiller fails, not one but both. It still need to have a separate pump to the backup chiller.
  16. Sorry for your losses I wonder it is a practice to run a backup chiller (smaller HP) in parallel with the main chiller with the backup chiller setting one degree higher than the main chiller for a reef tank....... Stanby power is a 1W~5W in most of the chiller if the chiller is not kick in, except need another pump to pump water to the backup chiller... An idea for your thinking.......
  17. Hi Anyone keep butterfly fish? What type of butterfly fish you keep? What type of food it is feeding? How to trained it to eat pellet? Which type of butterfly fish is easily to feed on pellets? Thanks for sharing,
