  3. Great looking tank! Love the rock scape!
  4. Thanks for your comments guys! Im quite happy that it has survived! Yup! Im running a chiller on this tank. Using the Hailea HS28A chiller. Dont worry! The new 'alot bigger' tank will be arriving in 1 week! I hope... Soon the fishes will have plenty of room to play in... The fox face is my favorite fish right now. Just about 3 to 4 inches.
  5. Bro dont thank me until like that leh.. You really have a beautiful zoa garden! Thanks for sharing your experience! Yup! I actually got some zoas from bro Tht79 to try out.. And then i cannot stop. Haha! I love zoas a lot for their colors and shapes... Glad to meet another zoa lover! Looking forward to more updates! A 6 footer reef tank is a real dream!
  6. Hi bro, any updates on your corals? I have this phobia with super glue and my zoas..
  7. Hi bro, i have experienced the same sort of thing to my yellowtail damsel. It turns out that the fins have been nipped by the other yellowtail damsels. With stable water and good feeding, the fins will grow back. Within a week from my experience.
  8. Joeybabooey - my goals are too much to list. To sum it up, full successful LPS tank with all my favorite fishes. That includes flame angel...
  9. Bro... I think because of your Taiwan LFS report, i will be staying a few more days just to visit those LFS.. Now just need to convince the CO to extend the trip.. Thanks!
  10. Hi bro, no you dont have to turn off your skimmer. I usually just leave my skimmer running when i dose.
  11. hehe I hope so too!!! right now i am deciding what kind of corals i really like... trying out different corals.. like now i have realised i dont really like mushrooms.. and i love zoas and LPS corals... Hey bro! thanks for dropping by! been pretty busy lately with work and such so just the usual maintenance... and planning of the new tank. Just spotted some coraline algae growing so was a bit excited. so far i have got my zoas collection on frag plugs and glued them to small rocks hoping they will grow and encrust the rocks.. because of this... my scape is pretty darn ugly... oh yes, i received a plate coral for christmas. looks good! Hope i am taking good care of it =) Will post a FTS in the morning when the light are on.
  12. very interesting thread here... i wonder if he is still keeping his tank?
  13. hello Bell! not sure if you still remember me.. got some zoas from you some months ago.. Anyway, i really like how your little tank is turning out! Nice updates!
  14. wha bro... blown away lah!! your tank additions are very entertaining and your photog skills are power!!! pom pom crab and your clown is my favorite! did you rescape?
  15. Do you leave your zoas on the frag plugs or glue them to the rocks? Do you have further plans for you tank? I hope it doesnt stop here! any zoas you want to add to your wishlist?
  16. haha yar bro! work super busy and tired... but now ok liao.. I dont think its water parameter though... you tank is well maintained leh! Try again? maybe just 1 more crab to try out?
  17. from experience, i gather that the dartfish jumps out could be due to aggression/stress from each other? i bought 2 purple fires from CF a while back (definitely not below $10) as i thought they were a pair because they were together in the tank. a few days later, after i didnt see one of them coming out at all even for food, it was on the floor. the other one, even after being chased by damsels and clownfish, still happily living in the tank. i think best to keep just one.
  18. yup! definitely madpetz for all your RO/DI needs. The owner is very helpful and you can get what you need there.
  19. had been using this product for 6 months and so far, did not have anymore algae problems or any issues with my corals. Although nitrate levels did not go down as much... But i feel that it should not be used as a long term solution... any inputs on this?
  20. Imho, manits shrimp should be kept solo in a thicker glass tank... i had a spearer that came in my live rocks when i first started and lost my fishes one by one... definitely should be kept solo. its a killer.
  21. definitely hermit crabs and fire red/ skunk cleaner shrimp. im afraid of keeping snails as i am afraid that they die and they rot inside the tank and i won't know until its too late.
  22. Oh my goodness! Your collection is really looking to be really awesome! would love to have such a collection like yours!
  23. Alvin, your zoos really too poison liao! your whole tank is a treasure chest of gems!
  24. I find that sometimes some individuals just don't do well in aquarium setting.. quite heng suay actually... but also there are many other factors... because they moult, its the most stressful time (for us owners).. could be the water or just could be themselves.
