  1. anemones. VERY tempting for newbies...but pls restrain Especially the bleached, purple tip ones.
  2. Those are common hermit crabs. You can catch them yourself at East Coast. Scarlet hermits has a yellow face and hairless red legs. And by the way the common hermit crabs are DEFINTELY not reef-safe
  3. Just get rid of those that looked like the one on the pics. If too many, then kill that many. Beneficial pods don't feed on your livestock.
  4. There are lots of these greenish blue anemone-like creatures on rocks at Pasir Ris Farm. When asked for its id, the guy there told me that it's called anemone on the rock. Didn't think its what its called... So i turned to this forum. So any idea guys ??
  5. Ah..used to have them before. Some sort of an evil copepod/saltwater wood louse. It's actually ###### blood out of those fishes. DO NOT LET THESE PARASITES BREED ! KILL THEM ALL ! You could try to scrape it off if you want to. I did it once. But it seems to stress the fish more when you net the fish and have the copepod manually removed. Anyway they'll usually come out in the dark. Once you spot them on the sandbed, net it immediately and KILL IT !
  6. Swopping my anemone hermit crab for a scarlet reef hermit crab or two dwarf hermits.
  7. Yeah, i read off the net that the nasty ones are always the blue hermits. I don't have snails anyways Gonna check out reborn this weekend then.
  8. Hey guyz, i'm looking for a red legged scarlet hermit. PLS pm me you came across any !
  9. My turbo just graze on the sides of the tank, never on the sandbed. Can't remember how many times i pull out that poor guy from the glass and place it on the sandbed. Looking out for nassarius or cerith but couldn't find them at lfs in the east.
  10. Having a diatom bloom that's been blooming for the past few months. Turbo snails are not doing anything with the sandbed. Doing 10% water change once a week. No RO/DI unit. Thus looking for control instead of prevention. Any crabs or snails that will control diatom growth and also consume detritus ? Btw, great site !
