RE: White particle or debris in Tank during cycling
tofubox replied to SteveS's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
bro, did the white small particles only appear after two weeks of cycling? For cleaning of filter, the best way to do it is to clean only a portion of it, say 1/2 this week, and 1/2 another week if your system is solely dependent on that one filter. The best way to ensure a steady amount of bacteria is to use sufficient live rocks, sand, bacteria housing. If you use any of these, u can easily wash out your whole filter with less concern about bacteria established on filter pads. -
Bro, any close up shot of the aquascape? Really interested to see

If u wanna make a tank, can try glass industry, upper serangoon rd. They will build according to your specification. In terms of normal fiber glass tanks, haven't came across any premade frag ready tank system. Will require your own drilling and plumbing.

Some recent updates : Tank going nice n strong, KH brought down to 7.0. Made a mistake today by dosing kh instead of ca, Kh went up by 2.5. Hopefully wont have any massive impact on the system. Still on ESV, used finished my 52oz bottle, waiting for the 1 gallons to be delivered. Consumption of esv has doubled since day one, with couple of sps growing fast. FTS Many new heads for my golden cloves Purple digi with good colouration on body One of the faster growers, radioactive BN The walt smith pocci that i saved is doing v well, better colour than when i first bought it as a colony Bought this frag from iwarna frag room, very slow growth, new growth is luminous blue. Anyone can id for me?

Very good hearted of you.......but its just part of the food cycle, especially if you go to live japanese seafood market, its a massacre there. If no one takes it, I hope it will be able to survive in our waters. Nonetheless, very kind of you

Fish? Equip? Lights? Advices on New 24l Nano Tanks
tofubox replied to asg's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Yup, the par38 will be the perfect choice for that size tank. It's quite common in pasa Malam, and much more affordable. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk -
Very nice frogspawn and hammer next to it. Too bad my tank no space. haha

Fish? Equip? Lights? Advices on New 24l Nano Tanks
tofubox replied to asg's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
1. Probably wont be able to find a 1.5ft t5 so easily. Depending on what corals u plan to keep, u could settle for those nano led light sets, best yet, just get a single par38, problem solved. 2. Not necessary to have protein skimmer as long ur bio load is low, and like u mention, weekly nutrient export is crucial. Dont forget to top off evaporated water 3. I usually aim to go min 30 times turnover or more. Higher the better. 4. No mandarin fishes for a tank that size bro, unless they are already feeding well on pellets, mysis alone for that size tank will be a killer, tank will not have enough copepods to sustain them on natural diet. Go with nano fishes http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/74703-lgreens-ultimate-guide-to-nano-fish/ Gd luck! -
Haha yup, The frag stand purpose is for placing the plug on frag tray / egg crates. If u placing it on rocks, can use a cutter to remove the stand, and paste the plug directly on the rock, so the zoa can spread around onto the rock itself eventually.

Very nice pair of snowflake. up for u bro

Simple forum search will give u the ans bro.

Arhhh! ok! That explains alot bro! Than it shouldn't be an issue. With a 300w maxspect lightset....thought u had plans in keeping corals, i guess its like you mention, flexibility to switch in future

Nice tank set up! May i ask whats the light setting on the razor you had on that picture? Seems like alot of shading on the lower portions, defeating the rock work / platforms at the lower tank. Seems like only 4 or 5 areas getting normal amount of light
-
Thanks for the tip YT, its currently at the bottom of the tank. Been thinking where to place it.
-
Haha Yup. I bought it as it is. My mom really liked the colour. So just Suck up and bought it, at least she has something in the tank that she chose. Hope will recover in my tank. My dad chose the true octo. I'm still an sps person. Need to get them involved!! Haha. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

I agree with Slayer n reddevils. I personally had bad experience with LFS as well, and i believe some others here would have came across such occasions. I went back to the LFS and resolved the problem directly with them. Sometimes it may be due to basic misunderstanding, faulty equipment, incorrect packaging etc etc. So its best to always check with them before jumping to conclusions. There was once i went back and told them i felt conned, with good justifications... i was compensated very well. But will i be going back there again? Never.

tofubox replied to ASHWIN's topic in Weekly LFS Stocks Report / LFS Info Centre
Are longspine cardinals uncommon in our LFS? I've been hoping to get a couple for some time now. -
Added two new lps to the tank. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
