  9. Gong Xi fa cai everyone! This year will be a pretty busy year for me. Hence I may be deciding to decomm (sps only) soon. I guess the main consideration will be time. Currently working a double job, day and night : 11am till 1am in the night. And hopefully later this year, I will be travelling quite often. As disheartening as it is, I may have to switch over to lps or just FOWLR as I have lost a couple of my sps recently just mainly due to my negligence and lack of time. I thank everyone sincerely for your support over the last years. Updating this thread and sharing my experience with everyone has been one of the most exciting thing for me in this hobby I will not be closing this thread or stopping the updates. Instead, i will be updating the changes in my tank, and some of my future plans which will be less demanding overall. Maybe it may be helpful to those who are looking for a less demanding marine system. Do look out for my sps sales post which will be coming up. Seriously quite depressed to sell all my beautiful stags which i have grown over the year, from little frags to giant colonies. Do support my sales if ur keen! I wish all a very happy lunar new year! HUAT AH!
  10. My Favourite is still the flipper magnet. The replacement blades do cost abit more, but last a Long time. Haven't scratched my glass once since using flipper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I had to tear down two rocks scapes because of xenia, but for a tank ur size, it wont matter, keep what makes u happy.
  12. I always leave acro crabs alone, or try to save them before i Dipp. I think 60-70% of my sps colonies have a crab residing in it. No ill effect. But make sure u ID them correctly. No point paying for an acro crab. Its not a must have.
  13. Dont soak your rocks in vinegar for too long, It will turn brittle and break apart. As mentioned, 1 day is too long. An hour or two is more than enough, u just want the vinegar to remove the outer portion of the rocks. Last time had to experiment myself bleaching rocks.
  14. ups for u bro, plenty of beautiful staghorn choices.
  15. U can measure anytime as long as u keep the time of the test constant. Especially so, if u run a Timer controlled Calcium reactor.
  16. Wow, Super great deal if u ask me. Ups for u bro Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. Wow beautiful loripes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Depends. High corals , Low fish - di unit priority . Low corals, high fish - skimmer priority. Once u can get both, than lesser limitation of what u can keep bro Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Another step closer to a staghorn / Monti dominated tank. Thanks to a really nice reefer that sold me the red monti
  23. Biggest benefit to your system: A Rodi system or a DI system at least. U will be battling algae issues all day long with those lights blasting down with tap water. *unless ur house tap has low TDS. Assuming u do 20% wc a week, a DI unit will suffice. Just have to replace the media when its exhausted (again depending on ur tap water tds) That was my newbie mistake running tap water, and having issues all the time. Would recommand looking out for 2nd hand DI units on this forum, and get ur replacement media from madpetz. A 3 stage DI will do a good job reducing the overall TDS.
