  1. bro. Hijack commercial plane would be a big threat. No excuses. Anyway size of blip don't determine anything, a C130 is just as big as a commercial plane. So they only track fighter jets? LOL??
  2. Yeah, I will be supplementing mine with t5 some time soon. I thought it might be a good alternative for you.
  3. I remember reading an article where a malaysian minister actually questioned the readiness of the malaysian air force. DAP Raub MP Datuk Mohd Ariff Sabri Abdul Aziz today questioned the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) for not checking an aircraft that flew mysteriously across the Malay peninsula the morning that the MAS Boeing 777-200ER disappeared. "At the time that whatever radar captured an intrusion into our space by an unidentified plane, why did TUDM not do anything. Where were our 18 Sukhois, our MIG and all that," he asked in his popular blog today, referring to the air force by its Bahasa acronym. The former Umno politician pointed out the Indian military said the response to an unidentified plane in the country's airspace would be an immediate scramble of its fighter jets to intercept. "That is how we confirm whether the object is hostile or not - not by waiting for people in the flying object to say - hello general, we are evil people with evil intentions. 4. Its about $160-200 (size difference) last i check at one of our LFS. Not feeding well yet though had to give it a miss. For the yellow anthias, i belive thats within the thousands range.

  6. Oops, i thought u asked for more pics of other fishes. My bad. Haha
  7. Superb Photography skills bro. Like those reefbuilder photo standards!
  8. Check out Youdontknowme tank thread, good example of supplimenting t5s
  9. If thats the case bro, dont go for high end t5s man. Use cheaper sets like odyssea or aquazonic. Keep easy corals like mushrooms, palys etc. Let your tank stabilize for a couple of months. Than wack a good set of leds....by than u have stable tank, stable parameters, good led = Any coral u want including sps. Alternatively, u can also wait for a good 2nd hand led set on the forum, seen alot only used a couple of months and still under warrenty for sale at pasa malam every now and than. If u get like 400-500 T5s now, or a 200-300 MH, with the intention to upgrade to high end led, you basically wasting the cash bro. Unless you plan on staying t5s or MH, than yes, i suggest getting a good set. Last alternative, which is the one i will recommand-----> Get 2 separate 2bulb t5s retrofit. Starting : Use 4 bulbs, good mix of blue n white bulbs. 4 bulb ATI or arcadia can grow corals very well still. When you have save enough for the led set, use your current t5s as a suppliment bulb. 2 on each side or just one set and sell the other set away. With t5s supplementing the leds, u can acheive a wider range of colour spectrum. I.e If u need more white, can get coral plus ,fiji purple, purple plus . Need more blue, can get blue plus. (hopefully i got them right, long time since i used t5s) . Lastly, if you notice your corals are doing so much better under t5s, than heck the idea of getting leds and get another 4 bulbs t5s! More room for flexibilty Led + T5 combo really gets the corals to pop and grow from all the threads I've read so far. The t5s basically suppliment what the leds can't in terms of the colour range and kelvin. That would be a good cost saving method, which makes full use of your purchases. And you dont have to burn a big hole right off the back
  10. Yeah its actually cured rocks i got from coral farm that i epoxy together. I like the choices and how porous the rocks are. Its slightly expensive but since i only needed a few, it was alright After scaping left it outdoor under the sun, now gonna cure it one more time for 2-3weeks before adding to tank.
  11. Thanks for the clarification Harlequin and Terryz. I am actually looking at this topic more as a buyer/purchaser point of view, than as a seller. Personally I haven't sold any frags before that I've frag from my own DT. As a buyer, i did like to have a good choice / wide range of coral frags to choose from. Ultimately, i believe this new regulation will serve its intended purpose and its a good step. Maybe other reefers can share their inputs with our admins so we all can get the best out of this forum. Cheers
  12. As long as its getting light, its not an issue. Placement as mentioned is important in terms of PAR requirement for corals. Good spread of lighting just helps prevents shadow in the tank. I used to have a tank which was only half lit, no issue with corals under the light.
  13. A good mixture of both! Reef roids is sort of like a flake type but really small, and mixes up well with any other liquid food u intend to dose. I mix oyster fest with reef roids in a little bit of tank water.
  14. Yes, u can switch to vinegar from sugar. Directly drip into tank. Amount will depend on your bioload and how much nitrates there is. Start with small amounts and slowly increase till you observe a steady decrease of nitrates. Once zero, reduce the vinegar dosing until u able to find the amount required to maintain a stable zero nitrate environment. Than dose this amount daily. Ashwin currently vinegar dose, maybe you can get hes input on a good amount to start of with and how to increase dosage in steady amount.
  15. U can place it on sandbed too, infact, anywhere. lol. I used to have them on sandbed, rocks, glass bottom, all opened up just the same. Maybe there is a preference for the clam, but i personally can't tell through observation.
  16. Very good read jamie, Thanks for sharing I had an issue with my skimmer too, end of the day, i feel tuning is the most important in any skimmer.
  17. I am also a bit confused now that u mentioned this. So basically this is restricting home aqua culture on an individual level? So correct me if i am looking at this the wrong way. You are saying frag only when needed, and not for the sake of aquaculturing more frags? Believe some of us here are not out to profit, we sell mainly to share frags but at the same time get some returns to maintain the hefty cost of the running electrical meter. I fully support the idea of limiting frag sales here by the way. Its a very grey area when it comes to people selling for big profits, and people selling because they aquacultured and want to share. And lastly when it comes to our actual LFS gaining support from purchase of imported corals.
  18. Seems like a pest just attacked it. Did it occur overnight?
  19. Only difference is how often u have to change the resins. Or maybe just how kiasu u are also.
  20. Not absolutely necessary bro. i run just DI. The benefits of running RO is just the RO picks up almost all the hard metals leaving a very low TDS water to flow into the subsequent DI units. This reduces the need to change the resins in the DI, and hence it will last longer than just pure DI unit.
  21. Hey guys, just some pics of the temporary qt tank, and rockscape i been working on. Just completed this rockscape over 2 days any comments? Main concern was to have little contact at the base with the glass as i will be running bare bottom. Only 4 very small points at the base touch the tank bottom. Current qt tank. With the old rocks, anemone, fishes. Will be considering selling this tank away eventually. And finally some zoas i recently got from a nice reefer. A small portion of my current collection.
  22. Wow, impressive work I really like the frag tank
