  1. Hmmm. Your case is weird man. So u are saying with all equipments combined u getting a 0.8 volt? Wherelse if u isolate n plug each at a time, u get 0.3volt? Where the hell is that 0.5 coming from when combined. Im also confused......My lucky guess is your return pump. Do u have a spare pump to use for testing? Im assuming you did this: 1. Unplugged all equipment 2. Put in return pump, check for stray current 3. Put in skimmer pump, check 4. Put in wavemaker, check 5. Put in reactor, 1 a time, check And still get 0.8 volts when all combined?? It has to be from some equipment man. Thats my guess. Anyway, any stray current in the water is not good for livestock, they may seem fine. But will have negative impact on health n growth.
  2. Bro, how can consider fail, when u havent even put anything in. Just rescape la. Haha
  3. FOUND! Thanks guys. Mod pls close thread
  4. Have u tried isolating one equipment at a time? Switch off everything, and turn it on one at a time till u find the culprit causing the volt to jump 0.8
  5. Did some reading on the blotchy anthias before, had the same plan to keep 2 in a 2ft tank. Firstly its the feeding, they will require multiple feeding throughout the day. Won't be an issue if u can handle the nitrates in an sps dominated tank. And most imported blotchy will require some time to train on pellets. Semi aggressive, will require two of the same sized if to be kept together. Or will result in big one becoming a bully Requires slightly colder temp since its a deep sea fish. Some have issues with swim bladder, so picking a healthy one from the start is the key. Can grow fast with multiple daily feeding and grow to about 6inch. Recommanded tank size for this fish is 125 gallon. I guess u can still give it a go bro, just pick a small and healthy specimen that should at least be feeding on frozen initially.
  6. I prefer to keep mine in between, leaning more to the dry side. From my understanding, dry skim = maximising organic impurity per unit volume of foam, (u get the most of what is extracted from the foam). Wet skim = Overall increased efficiency of removal of organic impurities. (U get maximum extraction with additional foam, lesser organic impurity per unit vol, but vol of extraction is increased) Plenty of articles to read, but thats what i came to conclude. Both works well. Individual preference.
  7. Hi guys, Looking for Bam bam Zoas, 3 or more polyps. And a large GSP, bigger the better. Thanks 90020585, Jarrett
  8. Hey Ash, good to see everything is coming back to normal for u bro. Looking forward to the pictures from your photoshoot! I need to get a peppermint shrimp too! Heard its a hit or miss for them to eat apitasia. Did u train it or anything?
  9. Got it from nanyang seaview. left only like 4 pieces on the racks. I've been searching for a cheap and good turkey baster since i started reefing!
  10. Camping here for the pictures! Glad to see another 2ft IOS nano sps orientated! I chose bare bottom mainly because i wanted more flow in my 2ft tank. Using a wp25 due to unavailability of wp10 back than. Initially using only 50% power, right now, its actually at full speed 100% at W1 mode, not sure is it because the flow rate dropped after some time. Either way, I am happy with the flow now and glad i don't have a sand storm. Keep us updated! Blotchy antias pair might be quite a challenge for a 2ft tank.
  11. Essentially an oversized pipette. This turkey baster is about 1ft long in length. Great for blowing detritus off rocks. Picking up suspended dirt in the water column or on sand and also used for large amount of broadcast feeding if required. Multi use tool!
  12. Finally found the perfect sized turkey baster! And only 6 bucks! Made for aquarium use by GEX
  13. Try marine life or coral farm. Always has nice RBTA when i am there. Ng couple usually has bubble tip anemones too most weekends
  14. Seems like a hitchhiking paly to me.
  15. Just did some frag shopping over the weekend at some reefers place. Thanks all for the new frags. Congested now, shall stop spending and monitor growth Some FTS and updates: Water Parameters SG: 1.025 CA 420 KH 9.0 MG: 1400 NO3: 0.05 Po4: 0.00 Had a alk swing recently, when i found my dosing tube detached from my dosing unit. True Fiber had an alk burn recently when the alk swing to 5.0, now recovering, hopefully can come back to life. Other corals doing well and colouring up Lost half of my walt smith pocci, other half still has the pink look and good PE, not sure how to save it, So tough to frag when all branches are so tight together. Got about to sticking my zoas on the frag. Fruitloop is weird, it opens once in a while, but closes most of the time. Has new polyp growing, no idea what it is trying to do.
  16. Personal favourite tangs will be 1 x hippo/blue Tang, 1 x Sohal Tang, 1 x Yellow Tang, 1 x Achilles Tang. Other nice tangs to consider : Naso tang, Purple tang, Clown tang, Orange shoulder Tang, Powder brown/Blue tang (Personally not my fav, due to susceptibility of itch), Sailfin tang (good algae eater), Kole tang (good algae eater), plenty more =D Enjoy! Best part of reefing!
  17. Hey xiggie, its not only the design when its comes to good quality skimmers. A badly designed skimmer can come with a control air valve too. A good quality skimmer, in this case we talking about euro/us made, are actually manufactured with higher quality standards. I.e Good polishing, better quality acrylic, hand wielded, titanium screws, ease of use, high quality pump. Overall, a good quality skimmer can be considered more reliable i.e Most of these skimmer offer longer warrenty. As always any equipment can be prone to breaking down, therefore paying a high price does not necessarily mean its 100% fail proof. You still have to keep up with maintenance, such as washing out the skimmer, cleaning the pump, removing built up calcium deposits, fine tuning the skimmer to match the tank. A china skimmer is just as good, reliable brands are like Bubble magus, SWC, Reef octopus. These guys are comparable on many levels with the US/Euro skimmers. These are affordable for many reasons, such as cheaper cost of labor to manufacture, Mass production of a single product, Cheaper materials. etc etc. Concept of a skimmer is the same end of the day. You pay for what u get.
  18. Bro, im assuming that your rocks are already well established with bacteria. With no ammonia, nitrite and a small trace of nitrate, can safely conclude that the tank is cycled. Good time to get a couple fishes to test out the system. Fishless cycle is assumed to be complete, so won't harm your fish so negatively. Stock slowly and monitor. Shouldn't be a problem Whats the plan for your tank?
  19. Its either that blue/hippo/regal Tang is really really small. Or that clam is hugeeeee ssssss.
  20. Lol, if ur worried a hitch hiker is eating your prawns, u can put it in a net and suspend your prawn. Bro, u mentioned " N the LR has been with me for the pass few month". was it kept submerged? If it has, it probably cured and already has bacteria established, hence the faster cycle.
  21. On the bright side, it means your tank is in awesome condition to support such massive growth! Only can hope u keep fragging bro. Haha
  22. With right lighting n good stable parameters, im sure your sps will do just fine. good luck
  23. Nah bro, mainly from forums too. Or maybe that was when it was first released and with all the hype things may have gotten exaggerated. I guess, its back to deltec. lol. Only a few brands i can trust really.
