Haha bro James I also wished it can auto monitor and test my water. It's just a very useful app, still have to manual input after testing. Here some other features. Scariest one is expenses, i seriously shock when i started counting my expense. I always key in what I buy. This not even the full amount, those stuff I bought last time didn't key. yeah im using the resh as well. You don't exactly need it to use it in line with booster and roids, its just an added option.

There isnt a perfect temp as corals come from different places and you can't cater to every single one i.e some deep sea corals/ some shoreline corals. The best temp is a stable temp. I keep mine between 26-27 degrees.

Haha, makes a bit of difference there. My advise would be to start slow and be patient. Nothing good comes fast in marine. Well, Firstly we need to know what skimmer and light set u already have. For the lightset, how many 54w bulbs, brand and colour of bulb. For skimmer, what model as it will determine if its suitable to be used for the tank size. What u will need for a simple set up: 1. Skimmer rated for your tank size + sump 2. Lightset 3. Return pump 4. Wavemaker 5. Some form of mechanical filter (filter floss/wool/sock) Get these sorted before you think about more equipment like chillers, reactors etc. Good luck. Also, what you planning to keep will make a difference in equipment choice. Decide if u wan corals or just fishes.

I don't think its an issue, depending on how strong your moonlight is. Its more for aesthetics. I personally switch mine off as i dont find it necessary.

Half ft high and half ft wide isn't really a good tank size to start with really. Have you already gotten the tank?
