ESV 2 part is great bro. I have it set at 7.5ml for both calcium and alkalinity which is recommended starting dose. Its kept both parameters stable at 8.5 and 410 for 2 weeks + now. I havent increase the dosage as yet, dont see a need to as yet. My alk did drop once to 8.3, but it went back to 8.5 shortly. So i reckon it was just the dosing unit or my manual testing. So far i am really pleased with using ESV, hope more lfs will start bringing in this product. Its been around the market for a long time now. On the other hand, when i was using grotech 1 and 2, i had to adjust quite often. I guess the only postive effect i have seen so far, is stability, not such if the small trace amount included has any effect.

Wow such beautiful gobies! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk -
Hahaha agreed bro. It's OK, I already asked delighting if there's stock, to inform me. I'll just use the normal end caps for now, shouldn't be an issue for short term use. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Yup already did bro. Normal electrical/lighting shops don't carry. I asked the owners, they said no one carries. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Left is after adding. Right is before. Sorry for bad quality. I've also taken individual corals. Will do a review before after at a later date. The image doesn't really do justice. The colours are stronger with t5 added. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Hey guys, so i went to a couple of lighting shop at sim lim + kelantan, and none of the shops seem to carry this item. Reefdepot no longer carries this item. Delighting, freshnmarine, aquamarin, nature aquarium all out of stock as well. Will be waiting for stock to arrive before switching over. Just sharing for those who are looking for these waterproof type.

So decided to take a pic for you guys to determine if you should add t5s to supplement. This is my setting 70% white, 70% blue with ATI blue plus and ATI articnic. Pictures taken during the same time frame. I reckon tank looks so much better after supplementing, I'll let you guys decide for yourself. Dont mind the algae. =/ Come on growth + colouration!

help me get "acclimatised" to singapore
tofubox replied to blesson87's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Welcome Blesson to the forum! Your best bet for hardware will be to engage our friendly sponsors on this forum. Usually its hard to find a reef ready tank that is already made to your desired dimensions, my suggestion will be to custom make one, along with the stand and sump. Prices are definitely more reasonable as compared to purchasing a pre built, or manufacturer branded. On top of that, you get to decide with recommendations from tank maker on your sump design and skimmer size dimensions. If u going to engage a good tank maker, most of the time, they can fulfill your equipment requirements as well. Livestock wise, its encouraged that you spend some time going around the marine fish shops on this sunny island. List of all the marine fish shops can be found http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/forum/52-lfs-directory-listings/ . If you are looking for something in particular, just post it in our "Weekly local fish stocks report" and we can guide u if we've come across it at a particular shop. Good luck with your tank build! Always the most exciting phase! -
Thanks guys. Anyway, hoping to get some input. I've placed an order for the jebao twin linkage controller. Anyone can recommend me how to position 2 wavemakers? Both same side or opposite? I understand different tanks vary, but whats optimal base on your experience?

So I went to 5 different lighting + fish shops today. And couldn't find waterproof end caps. Decided to just go ahead with regular till stock comes in. Here's the final product. Using one blue plus and one artinic. Finally after so long, I added t5. I'm really glad I did. Corals look better. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Thanks for the feedback guys, just contacted both sellers. They have no stock at the moment.

Hey guys, Anyone know where i can get waterproof t5 endcaps? Delightings no stock. Will sim lim tower have? Really appreciate some help.

Woot! more reefers supplementing leds with t5s. Just got my t5 diy kit today, unfortunately not enough wiring, so need to get more tomorrow. I am planning to use blue plus and actinic. Will see how that goes.

Hey Sherman, its an app called aquarimate. Its a flat fee of $12. Found out about this through a MACNA video, one of the vendors. At first hesitant to buy as i'm not a big fan for paid apps. But i must say this app is truly a good assistance to any fish tank keeper. I used to keep a old brown exercise book to monitor the parameters, this is much much easier and gives u statistical graphs etc. Plenty of useful features such as timeline, tasks and activities, expenses, livestock (can keep track of what u put in your tank, both fish n corals), notes, and a build in database with photos for fishes n corals. Lastly, it gives u a free storage to back up ur data just by keying in your email add, so if your phone crash, its all backed up on their online system. I'm not advertising for this app by the way, so feel free to have your own opinions. On a side note, I used to always forget when i change out carbon, phosphates, nitrate pouches etc as its on different days, now my phone alerts me everytime a scheduled change is coming up. Thanks alot blueclown Yup, i scaped it on my own. Its nice if you have some ideas and couple of rocks to play around with.

Finally bought the diy kit. Hope I don't get electrocuted Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

+1 on lighting, didnt notice. haha. Invest in a single par38 with gooseneck holder. The tank will be beautifully lit and sufficent light + par to cover entire tank. Keep it some distance from the top of the tank and you can keep more variety of corals.

Hi, bro, that looks more like a torch coral you are referring to. I don't see an anemone in there. Since you do frequent water changes, i will think its something besides the water parameter. Firstly, check if you have gotten the right salinity for the tank, basically this is beacuse for a small nano, with no chiller, evaporation rate is insane, and when u add more salt water, the salinity just keeps rising. Bubble corals are very hardy and can accept wide range of parameters, the torch coral not so. Next, it might be the temp of the water, you wanna try keeping it under 29 degrees. Check out these 2 and let us know. Btw, thats a bloody innovative looking tank + stand. Can i put a $1 and twist for a nemo?
