For example: Needlewheel protein skimmer Curve29 Capability : 1000L-2500L(265G -660G) pump:SP4000 X2 ,20W air intake : 1800L/H Dimensions: 450*380*650mm(17.7" * 14.96" *25.59") Water Level :9.85"-10.63" Price: SGD700 Size of skimmer is made to handle 265G to 600G tanks. This should include your sump volume as well. Like bro dragon mentioned, usually we get skimmer that is overrated for our tanks. This is just to ensure optimum skimming + upgrading tank opportunities in the future. Just be careful not to buy undersized skimmer or insanely oversized skimmer. You will wan efficiency on top of optimum skimming too. Usually aim for 2 to 3 times ur tank vol. This may sound insane, but i am using a 192G rated skimmer on a 30G tank, i like the skimmate i get, not sure if it efficient though, may have too much waterflow.

If 3x3x2, the bm nac is definitely way to small. I would look at other bm series, or reef octopus if on a tighter budget. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Wah bro! Fastest upgrade I seen! But always good to upgrade!! Bigger the better bro. Ups for u Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Thanks all for recommendation. Bro kakani, maybe it's just my phone. It looks more greenish to me. But I'll be keeping an eye out for yellow acros like the one u link. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Yeah, lol. It's recommended to start with yellow. But can't find any yellow sps to even begin with. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Hahaha. Best thing to do bro. It's take things one step at time. I didn't even realise a 2ft tank like mine ended up costing so much money. Baby steps and u won't feel that hard a pinch on ur wallet. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Hey guys, was reading the article for sps coloration on reef builders. Read more: http://reefbuilders.com/2008/09/03/guide-of-sps-coral-coloration-make-them-more-vivid-bright/#ixzz319QRFdUl Came across this section: Yellows Highly dependent on Nitrate and PO4 levels. Of course all SPS colors are highly dependent on lack of N and P so I wanted to start with probably the easiest color to get, yellow. Yellows are sort of you baseline; yellows will tell you a lot about what is going on in your tank, what is needed and what is overdosed. Nitrate and/or PO4 reduction is most important, either through technical means such as nitrate/phosphate reducers or biologically through DSB, Carbon dosing and/or water changes and fuges. Basically, if you want to do SPS, I would suggest starting with an acropora that is yellow. If you can get it to say yellow for several months, you should be ready for something else. Can anyone recommend some yellow coloured sps? I don't see it very often and its supposed to be easiest colour to get. In fact, haven't come across a nice coloured yellow sps before. Or maybe most of them just turn green after awhile.

Bro moonwater, just to share, you can use this to help you get ur parameters where u want initially. After that, just stick to recommended dose. http://reef.diesyst.com/flashcalc/flashcalc.html

Agree, Vodka is essentially in its purest form + distilled water, unlike milk .Thats why i'm skeptical about milk. Its what else is in there that I'm afraid of in a long term. But as bro Firestarter said, if we never try we never know, but my tank is way to small to risk, im glad we have kind bro willing to test this out for the benefit of us all here.

yup, i can view bro. Nice eminem music going

Absolutely stunning bro!!! Everythings so clean and nice! I like how you have such strong flow still with a sandbed. Your fishes look really healthy

Lol, i feel that this can only go two ways....1: You dose too little, you don't even notice a difference. 2: You dose too much, something goes out of balance and crash. Unlike aquarium products which is tested for amino acid concentration to suit the amount required per vol of tank, its hard to get the right equation with milk. Personally i think i wont be comfortable adding anything that does not belong in the ocean into the ocean. But who knows maybe it does work, i.e VODKA!!!. Keep us updated. I may very well be wrong!

U need to get a lego figure of sponge bob and Patrick bro. Place than on the sand. Lol Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Ooooh ok, I understand now, didnt know there was a bottom inlet as well.
-
Hmm, I am a little confused. Are you using a undergravel filter or overflow system? Why is your inlet at the bottom?
-
Oh OK. Thanks for the info bro. Headache. Guess must stick to usual routine when changing out rowa, since my tank is low nutrient Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Thanks bro, don't know why their website has 3 different products. Ultra Phos 0,04 1000ml, Ultra Phos 1000ml, Ultra Power Phos 1000ml So from what i understand, its best to just use ultraphos 0.04 since they are all priced the same? Guess i'll patiently wait since i still have some rowaphos I like the fact i dont have the rinse before use, and i can tell when its exhausted, those are like 2 headaches when using rowa or any phosphate remover products.
-
Oh no! I was ready to jump in the wagon for HM ultraphos until you mentioned it shouldn't be use in ULNS tanks =( Was reading up on ultra phos 0.04, it did say it will bring it down not lower than 0.00. Wonder what is the difference. So using the normal HM ultraphos can drop the value right down to 0? Ultraphos, ultraphos 0.04 and ultra power phos! So many types! Why don't they just release ultraphos 0.04 since its same price as everything else. Is it just the different material used?

Another 2ft ios! Sweet! Are those artificial corals on the left? Good scape, but i would remove the coral chips on the sandbed, its gonna build up detritus
-
No worries moonwater. Trust me, its so much easier because whatever amount u add for part A, just add the same amount for part B. Done =D Just get your tank parameters where you want them to sit, and you be sweet. Start off at the recommended and up as required.
