  1. Yeah i guess. zeovit also does a good job. What i meant to ask is.... is it possible to maintain such colouration with just good husbandry + stable water parameters + Good lighting? Seems like these more interesting and better coloured corals require more complicated systems, but i hope someone can prove me wrong.
  2. Erm, dont worry bro. With your emotions and commitment to this forum from what i noticed......I can safely say.... We will be seeing you soon! Someday, sometime, somehow, i am sure you will get back to reefing. All the best for now bro!
  3. Wow, how to maintain such intense colour.
  4. Sold. Mod pls close thread. ty
  5. Haha, bro weeseng, don't so humble la. Usually the actual stuff will always look more amazing!!! Beautiful lps shots bro! Admire your mix reef. Hard to get it perfect for every coral needs.
  6. Nice collection of pretty corals Love the variety and colouration of the LPS.
  7. Best parameter is any stable parameter For LPS and soft corals, its very forgiving, just keep within the recommended parameters. Best is choose one, stick to it or give a range for it to fluctuate in between. For starters, Sal: 1.025-1.026, KH=7-11, Ca = 390-450, MG=1320-1450. I personally like to keep my KH between 8.0 and 9.0. Doesn't go over or under.
  8. I actually prefer the looks of it this way. A simple 2 or 4 door cabinet with a hood over the top will be nice. That sump looks so huge from the photo. With the tank this way, makes ur house look way way more spacious than before. Earlier, i had no idea why your tank was in the middle of no where. so congested.
  9. +1 i see the hose holder all the time at nanyang. Alot of freshwater fish shop carries this.
  10. Oh man, u got me all excited now for the pics. I'm glad everything is coming along nicely. Looking forward to your updates. Let me know if u need a hand, I live around the corner, can drop by anytime The frags i got from you last time are doing very well!

  13. My dream frag...the almighty SSC!
  14. Damsel for a first choice of fish into the tank is scary
  15. Oh boy, didnt even know I've been miss spelling coralline algae. haha.
  16. Its not a cause for concern like i mentioned, as long as ur nitrate and phosphate is within range. If u wanna accelerate caroline growth, than as bro Marcovan mentioned, its has to do with lightings. I see your KH and CA is on the high side, but its still considered in range, and i understand your purpose in having elevated reading is to encourange caroline growth. Be sure not to let KH pass 11 though, and CA should be left at 500 or less. Dont push it up anymore, else everything is just going to precipitate out, and become useless / clog up your equipments. A good amount of MG in the system will also benefit caroline growth by the way. My advice besides lighting is just to be patient. Dont go buy purple up or whatever commercial products that stimulates caroline, its just going to create imbalance in the system. Stabilty + lighting+ low no3+ low Po4 = Caroline algae.
  17. Haha, thats the challenge of a 2ft nano tank bro, keeping the parameters stable. Its not as easy as the bigger tanks. They test once a week, i test every other day of the week just caused i'm always so scared something goes out of place. It will happen so quickly. Sometimes i find myself being too paranoid, but i can't help it. lol. Its going to be challenging indeed, but don't let mishaps disappoint you, its part and parcel of the learning curve. I'm sure you will do fine bro.
  18. Nice bro. I always envy those who are able to work their house around their tank. Shows commitment to the hobby. Like bro harlequin, a room dedicated to the tanks. awesomness.
  19. Heres an example of my rocks. I used dry rocks for this tank, its been 2 to 3 months now. Rocks covered with lime green algae, but not a cause for concern. If you notice, there are already specks of caroline starting to grow. As long as your nitrate and phosphate test are showing the right readings, just "enjoy" the lime green for now, it will be gone shortly.
  20. Thanks for the info solasido! I guess it has a lot to do with adaptation of the coral. We could probably do the same with our tanks, but require long periods of acclimatisation from 26-27 up till 29-30 for the corals to adapt well.
  21. How old is your tank Mel? Did u use live or dead rocks when starting the tank. I ask because if u use dead rock, it's common to get that lime green algae over the rock, before Caroline start to take over. It's just the ugly phase of using dry dead rock to start tanks Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  22. Very nice scape bro. Looks very much like a small piece of the ocean. Great job Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
