Sorry to see u decom bro. I have always loved the design of your tank since i saw it in AA gallery. Sadly, I don't have the spare cash for the upgrade at the moment. Ups for you bro!

Curios to know what wrong advice u refering to? Everyone has their own methods, some work some don't, each tank has its own individual characteristics. So its very hard to say ifs it a right or wrong advice. I.e In the past wet, dry filter was the way to go, as time improved, other methods have taken over. Doesn't mean wet/dry had it's faults. There are people who had a lot of success with it in the past.

Thank you reef garden for your kind words. Here's a pic of my newer hobby, started earlier this yr. Just managed to get the complete Simpsons set. Happy reefing one and all! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Wow i be happy if i had hitchhiking corals like this. Looks like it has alot of potential to be something awesome.

My two favourite fishes of all time. Glad they are best friends in the tank. Hope one day i can have a tank full of just these 2 species and maybe a small school of helfrichi with minimalist scaping!

Bear & Cat's 3x2x2 mixed reef little piece of ocean

Your tank looking more colourful each update. Nice sps frags and teardrop clam. -
Hey bro, you might wanna try this other alternative. Algone nitrate pouches, available from madpetz. This stuff tried and tested, works great on my tank, i change one pouch every 2 weeks. Never had a nitrate problem since implementing. Now i can spam frozen food without worry. When pouch is exhausted, has this extremely foul smell. I appreciate the smell, since i know its doing its job. haha.

haha, no la, I believe i'm not the first few to start t5 combo. Alot of hidden dragons out there have already done it for a long time now and had good success. Just sharing my own reviews so far. I'm glad other reefers are also jumping in. If got money, I would switch to AI hydra, save the headaches. lol.

Beginner's Guide to Keeping Anemones
tofubox replied to Harlequinmania's topic in General Reefkeeping_
There isn't a surefire way from what i understand. But what you can do is guide them to where u want I.e by placing the rocks and wavemakers in a suitable area. They hate direct flow from wavemakers. -
Are they really loud like parrots?

Low nutrient system e.g zeovit, ultralith, prodibio
tofubox replied to ml708's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Alot of their products compliment one another. Is it superior? I don't know. Does it work? Yes, its been proven in many tanks over other form of bacteria dosing. -
The colour is slowwwllyyy coming back.....i can hardly wait to see its potential Honestly wished i had one of those cool DSLRs to take nice shots. My phone really isn't amazing at taking coral photos

Haha i feel u man. I always get the same issue. Hopefully their Minishop will open soon. Easier for us all.

Haha I'm a student too! To be honest, a lot of my money go into my hobbies (reefing, mountain bikes, lego minifigs). Safe to say 80% of it, no more money left to chiong, heng i chiong hard enough when 18++, now sian already. If only I started working, I can finally build my dream tank. Ps. Supposed to be studying now, but here surfing sgreefclub. Die la...haha

Yay for more t5 supplement. Big fan of it right now after seeing the results! Whats that coral called? The one that u mention is a super duper slow grower. Its so pretty. You have so many frags all over! I wonder how many in total bro! haha
-
Most noticeable change with using t5s supplement so far. Both shot under same led light intensity. Slightly tough to compare since one is top down (didnt have an old top down shot), and the right one has additional t5 bulbs switched on. But u can see the colour has changed a fair bit in all 3 corals. Including the tenius on the front. So should i supplement my lighting? Hell yeah! (That said, I am using 10k led lighting, so maybe the 16k would turn out different)

Every system had its pros n cons i guess. I actually enjoyed trying the different types, most of them compliment each other. Theres the really expensive way and the simple way. Both ways work just as well, end of the day it boils down to tank husbandry.

Thanks alot cedric for the clarification. I agree, the subject on additives is really huge, and can go on for many pages. But key here is I am definitely more confident keeping healthy sps after hearing what you had to say on husbandry. Cheers! Nice pink encrusting monti! I can't wait to see you back in full force

Wow beautiful Frags bro! I like ur ora bn and tri Colour Valinda. Last photo looks like a penope birdnest. But I may be wrong. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Adding on, also tried sump system, overflow system, IOS system, Canister filtration. Calcium reactors, Dosing units. Natural salt water (about 6 mths, every week carry jerrycan), Salt mix. Uv sterilizers. In sump skimmer, hang on board skimmers, carbon dosing, probiotic system. Coral chips, couple of different biomedias,....every year something new comes up, i guess thats the joy of this hobby as well. Maybe next aim will be a tank controller like neptune and FM or zeovit system.

My 4 yrs of Reefing From a 3x2x2 tank, down to 2.5x1.5x1.5. Soft corals ---> LPS corals---->Fowlr---->Mix reef---->Sps dominant Plenty of ups and downs, but always a challenge. I enjoy this hobby alot. Went through refugium, deepsandbeds, barebottom, shallow sand, algae turf scrubbers, t5s, to halides, leds, reactors, mangroves, many types of macroalgae, plenty of addictives, itch phase, pest phase etc etc. Wonder how much I've spent on this hobby. hehe Itching to upgrade to a bigger tank......arghhh Happy vesak day one and all!
