  1. Superb looking tank bro, always nice to upgrade, more space more stability. You did a great job with those nano tanks, Im sure this 322 will be an awesome tank. Whats that overflow box? I'm looking to get something similar for my tank. Looks large enough to handle higher volume of waterflow compared to some overflow box out there.
  2. Chanced upon this video some time ago, i feel its a good video to share with everyone here. There is 2 to 3 episodes by american reef that talk about leds Besides this video, theres also one by vivid aquarium. Half tank MH, half tank leds Video credits to American reef channel
  3. Hmmm, black water is good what. Well depends on what sort of skimmate u after. For faster export, i guess you will prefer yellowish, but have to empty collection cup more often
  4. Looks amazing bro, the top down shot looks like from some huge public aquarium tank design
  5. Added a new piece of rock to accomadate more frags. What do you guys think? Too much?
  6. I survived a heart attack after seeing that awesome frag. Thanks Cedric Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  7. It is quite possible that either your tank or the seller's tank had a new addition/ purchase recently that has trophonts / free swimming theronts. To fully understand ich will require a good understanding of its life cycle. It takes 3-28 days for it to reproduce within the substrate and 48hrs once hatched to find a host. So, a fish can be healthy for a long time, but be exposed to ich just as easily if it is reintroduced in some form. Fish are also more susceptible to ich when there is a change in environment, a large swing in water parameters, temperature, ph etc etc. That is why it is common in home tanks compared to the wild. Ich is truly a disease that exploits the conditions of captivity to reproduce easily and find suitable hosts. My advice is not to hypo the dt as it will most certainly result in your coral and inverts dying off on top of the ich parasites for hypo treatment to even be successful
  8. Lol, that is a lot of fishes. But they all look healthy which is important.
  9. Up for you bro. Its a really good steal. Overflow box is reliable and well made from iaquatic singapore. Easily worth more than 200 for this tank set.
  10. Now want to help also scared. Later post wrong, tio blacklist!!!!

Maybe we all are just scared of just that one person of criticizing no matter what you say.

No names, but it's pretty obvious who it is.

      That "Old Bird"

  11. I use to keep a FOWLR system. I didn't dose anything at all. It went auto pilot for 2 yrs before decomm. Now i have a coral nano tank, and the only additives i add are colour enhancers from grotech. Rest is considered coral food or amino acids, I'm not counting balling method as a form as addictive. End of the day, keep your water clean (filtration, sump maintenance, regular water changes) , good husbandry and know your fish well (i.e its diet, compatibility, and natural behaviour) I'm not saying all additives are bad. But you need to understand what you are putting in your tank. Maybe other bros have had good success with certain additives and would like to share.
  12. Lol, yeah. I was shock to read so many products. I'm just using rowaphos for phosphate, algone for nitrates. I do however probiotic dose using polyplab reef resh. The key point I'm driving at is not to use so many products which serve the same purpose, as you wont know what is actually beneficial.
  13. Many of these products are "snake oil". Don't believe everything you see. I've never dosed any vitamins or minerals for my fishes before. Never had a problem. Only thing i ever did was soak my fish food in garlic before feeding.
  14. I think you just went overkill on the amount of products bro. End of day you won't know which is actually beneficial to your system. Try using lesser commercial products, and a more natural export. I use 1 for nitrate and 1 for phosphate, rest is just down to husbandry That aside, Algone will cause your skimmer to foam vigorously for couple of hours when just added. After awhile, it will be back to normal. Can't advice on the others.
  15. FM Mag pending collection tomorrow. Thanks all.
  16. I'm voting Achilles gold rim tang. Very nice catch.
  17. Par 38 sold and collected. FM Magnesium still available! Come grab it! Price reduced to $15! Hurry!
  18. 150 = tank + sump only 500 = Tank + sump + stand. Alu stands are known to be a little pricy. But very sturdy.
  19. I tried something new today. Not sure if it will work. Had a small apitasia that just popped out of no where at the root of my true fiber optic colony. I took a small amount of epoxy and superglued it over the aiptasia. I hope that will do the trick.
  20. Very very stunning corals. I like how those brown or mysterious frags colour up to be something amazing. Keep up the good work bro!
  21. Absolutely amazed by the flashlight fish. Would be nice to have a whole school of them.
  22. Hey guys, so.....a crazy thought came to me the other morning. I'm thinking of creating a shallow lagoon tank. Simple design. As I'm only a student, I'm thinking of buying it part by part. Anyone knows any cheap carpenter that can make a 4ft long cabinet, hopefully it will be within my budget. Looking to do a 110x50x42 cm lagoon style tank. Any recommendation will be much appreciated. Thanks!
  23. That True Fiber is absolutely stunning! Ups for you bro. Would get it if i had a bigger tank!
  24. I think most bros here are just giving the advice that there are better substitutes over the use of bio balls, assuming the user already has some form of mechanical filtration in place but still getting dirt trapped in the bio balls. I agree that u need all 3 filtration to achieve good efficient filtering, but with improved equipment over the years, there are also other options for biological filtration as some bros have mentioned. And yes, if anytime you want to do a drastic change like removing all your bio balls at one go for replacement, please do it in smaller batches to avoid any problems with the tank's biological system. cheers.
