Its Day 5 of zeovit cycle. Nothing has changed! Tank still looks prestine. Tidied up my cabinet wirings today. All thats left is to label the plug heads. And the unfortunate result of a purple digi left overnight on an acan after accidentally hitting it over the night before. Watch your LPS!

Dont forget, Large tank pros: more stable, Cons: Higher cost of running and initial set up, I.e larger chiller, lightings, pumps, skimmer. My recommandation is maximise your budget and try to get above average equipment before deciding on a 4ft vs 3ft vs 2ft.

Whoa, v nice set up bro. Whats the tank dimensions? Gonna tag along

Reef safe fishes for sps tank
tofubox replied to CestTresBon's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
Yes, they mainly feed on pods. So u need a good supply. Can eventually be trained to take fish food, but will require some time. Best is to read up about the fish before committing. -

Yeah, anthias requires alot of feeding. If you cant handle the bioload, than safest to skip. Theres plenty of choices besides goby and wrasse. Can also try chromis, damsels, cardinals, blennies, dottybacks, dragonets, dartfish and hawkfish.....so many to choose from. -

Played around with my rw15 today. Heres a quick and short video to share! Impressed with it overall. Waves can be much higher than the video. But didn't wanna blow the sand all around. Turn the vol down if u dont wanna wake the family. As always, thanks for viewing.

Very close Planted! But i'm afraid its definitely not an acropora It belongs to Seriatopora guttatus family . My guess would be its a Bird of paradise Birdnest. something similar to this

What's cooler than an underwater waterfall? How about two?

WHOAAA! Amazing looking planted tank, takes real skill and patience -
Can try skimz pur reef salt. Cheap and good!
-
The smaller the tank, the cheaper it is. The price is mainly base off the amount of material used. Not base on standard size. If u include additional features like external overflow, than the price may differ.

On the brighter side of things, I've began cycling the tank! At last, been sitting around for almost a month patiently waiting. Couple of updates: 1. Finally got the ATO fixed and working 2. Calcium reactor and co2 is up and running 3. Full lighting for 10hrs a day 4. Day 3 of the zeovit cycle (seeding rocks with bacteria king from 2ft tank) 5. Wavemakers rw15 x 2 arrived and installed 6. Started up the zeovit reactor, (Size was too small, have ordered a larger reactor) 7. Changed a bit of the scape 8. Added sand i got from a fellow reefer while waiting for the stock on caribsea special grade to arrive. Heres the tank at day 3, havent measured any parameters except po4, which is in a good range. Fired up the skimmer, this was collected in under an hr, amazing stuff, tank doesn't even have anything besides the rocks in. Gonna tune it down abit to skim dry. Zeovit reactor way too small Everything running including the CR Thanks for viewing, will update more on the cycling soon!

Hmm no idea really atm. Might probably end up getting another borbonius, but hard work getting it healthy and feeding well.
-
RIP my little friend. He decided to take a leap of faith in hopes of landing into the 4ft, sadly, he didn't make it. This was my favourite fish in the 2ft, always eager when it comes to feeding, active and really healthy fish. Pity he decided to jump out of the tank, would have been my most anticipated addition to the new 4ft. Sigh.

Bro. I think u can invest in a camera liao. Haha ur photos don't do any justice to the Zoa.

Very nice macro shots bro

Wah chio zoas! Can't wait to see this tank mature

Some added info from the zeovit website: "Refugiums, phosban reactors, phosphate removers, denitrification reactors, algae/turf scrubbers, ozone and UV filters are not needed and should be removed before you start the zeovit setup." Looking forward myself to see how the zeovit system performs! My salt mix should be completed tomorrow, if all goes well, will be starting day 1 of the cycle.

All depends on how much decaying organic matter u have in the tank bro
-
Whoa! Look at all that Crap that came off the rocks! Shoik. Wah can't wait, think we can start cycle together bro. Haha

Ups! available! Random motion!

Great feedback! Yeah, totally forgot about the carbon reactor. Thanks for reminding me.....currently the reactor is in the main display running rowaphos thats why, but only loaned it from a friend, will have to get my own. haha. There's ample room for the reactor in the sump still. I have 2 return pumps in case one fails on the return section. But wont be plumbing it in until i go overseas, to prevent calcium build up. Will be using my 2ft tank for qt. At the moment, i got a small side refugium which im planning to just throw my remaining cured rocks in to grow pods or a section for frags. But still indecisive if i should put a frag rack there. I guess we'll see in the long run. Pretty satisfied at the moment with the sump size, as there's ample room to place my cr and co2 tank within the cabinet with a top up reservoir by the front. Thanks for the suggestion kkk121, definitely worth considering but maybe at a later stage. Btw, i love ur joined system. will consider setting one up as well, and use my secondary return to power it.

Haha, thanks bro. Any reason why u suggest i would need a bigger sump? Only running 2 equipment, skimmer n zeo reactor. No refugium, no ats, no dsb, no media reactor.
