For starters, i wouldn't recommend going directly to a LFS as they don't carry the easier to keep corals so often. Look out on forum or post WTB in pasa malam. Best to try out any kind of Birdnests sps, montipora caps and digitatas. These buggers are hardy. Example of how much torture a Birdnest can endure through and still live. Im sure anyone with good water conditions can give it a go.

Thanks alot guys. Bro, dont be afraid, go ahead and try out some sps. You will be poison deep deep. Its really isnt too difficult as long as u maintain good husbandry and good water. Zeovit and all those cool gadgets are really not necessary in my opinion if u are keen on trying sps out. GO for it!!

Just go for dead rocks. Collect as many as u can, be it purchasing them at LFS or getting from fellow reefers. The cost is super low, gives u alot more room for creativity as well. The best method to cure is by cooking the rocks. Just put them in the dark, with salt mix and a pump. At the same time u are also cycling the rocks and purging the rocks free from po4 and no3. Only problem is u need to mix up new batch of salt water every few days and replace. Or alternatively, run a skimmer and po4 remover after the first week.

Yeah, definately wait on those magnesium stones, its gonna be a hassle to put it in once u got everything installed and running.

Make sure u check ur mag level as well. Cases of either kh or ca shooting up is mainly due to imbalance of either one in the water.

Haha. U gonna love the conviniance of cr! No need frequent replenisment of addictives, no need worry about dosing pump issues, frequency of measuring ca is reduced greatly, kh and ca in good balance. Don't forget, if possible get some magnesium stones and mix in there. It helps Alot. Regretted not putting mg in my reactor. If u need help with tuning let me know.

Yup, currently running 6 tube t5, 40 bulb diy led in middle. Nothing much to update at the moment, colours still pretty much the same as last FTS. Haven't lost any corals so far since starting, hopefully it will remain that way. I'll try to get some underwater shots over the weekend, my s3 sucks, can't capture colours at all from outside tank, everything turns out blue even with just coral plus on. Have to try using some app or program to adjust the white balance. Didn't have the same issue with my 2ft maxspect since i could adjust the colour intensity. Wished I owned one of those fanciful cameras....... Anyone has a good app that can adjust the white balance to recommend? Cpu or phone, both is fine. Hopefully its free to use too. haha Thanks Evo! My tank still no where close to your coral colouration la. haha. still working on it.
