  1. Interested to know as well bro. Hope u start a tank thread. So at least those keen can have a better understanding of the care requirements and water conditions required.
  2. Best place to get dry dead rock is from here. Just ask around. There is no such thing as a dry live rock by the way....when its dried, the rock is dead as it no longer houses the beneficial bacteria or critters
  3. you can dry them. But the smell will take awhile to go. Basically there will be die offs on the rock which cause the foul smell.
  4. Close up shot of the hanging bracket. I had it made at Prestech with couple of modifications. Fellow friend of mine actually gave me this idea with the mods required to hang the lightset. It is very sturdy and strong, very impressed with the overall looks, neat and tidy as well.
  5. I really like ur refugium system. Looks like a display tank by itself.
  6. Beautiful corals bro! Definitely will look better if u can get some nice cultured/wild colonies. I am sure the hybrid, zeovit/FM system will work out well!
  7. Very nice prodibio setup. Been seeing a lot of beautiful tanks using just prodibio products. I would say probiotic dosing is really a great way for reefkeeping, especially for sps keepers and those who like ULNS systems, follow instructions and you wont mess up.

  9. As most of you have guessed it right, I recently switched over to ATI Sunpower 8 x 54w. Well, for obvious reasons............ its cheap and it works. Let the colouring up begin! Finally the missing piece of the puzzle to my zeovit system Bulb Combination from Front to back: Blue+, Coral+, Blue+, Purple+, Abspecial, Blue+, Coral+, Blue+
  10. Red sea aiptasia x works like a charm for me. Never seen one in my DT since.
  11. Good: Colourful hardy beginner coral, grows well. Easy to feed. Don't sting other corals..(i guess), can be propagated. Can withstand higher nutrient and less susceptive to parameter swings. Does not require high lighting Plenty of variation, can form your own "garden" with many varieties Rare and exquisite ones can command very high resale value Bad: Poisonous coral, can spread fast and over take other coral. May have some zoas based pest, which eats it- so caution on valuable purchase.. As mentioned, poisonous and should be handled with care and caution, spilling hot water on these guys will cause hell. Ugly: Some Zoas look great under artinic/uv lighting, but look horrible in day light (6-10k spectrum)
  12. ups for ur sales! Got a royal purple monti from him before. Doing very well in my tank!
  13. Did a water change today, heres some updates of the tank. Zeovit still doing extremely well for me. Yet to get my lightset set up, lazyyyyy....Should get it up by this week....hopefully.
  14. Hey bro! Thanks for sharing. Im having the same issue as well with my purple stylo. Looks exactly like urs at the moment. My potassium is at 410. But no change sadly. Not sure if i should bump it up higher. Let me know your results!
  15. Polplab Reef roids + booster is all u need for feeding. If nutrient still remain low, can add oyster fest as well. Frequency is up to u, but twice a week is a good start.
  16. Nice photos and great tank setup. I used algone before, it works really well.
  17. Got a call today from my favourite guy "Your light set arrived liao"......................... OOMMMMGGGGG Waited forever. But its gonna be worth the wait. My last key piece of equipment! Will update again with pics once i have it up
  18. Looking good! very nice parameters too!
  19. Yes u can certainly tidy up those wires alot better. Heres mine back when i had my 2ft tank running. I just made a hole in the reflector and cabled tie the reflectors directly onto the heatsink on the maxspect. Helps dissipate heat too.
  20. Hey guys, I trimmed my sps couple of weeks back, so i have the following for sale. I apologise for all the closed up polyps in pic. Basically i took the shots with the frags infront of a wavemaker! haha Frags are all healthy with good coloration. 1. Bird of paradize. Has obvious green shades from top view. Stable and fast grower, multiple branches - $25 2. Pink body, blue polyp Birdnest. Stable and fast grower, multiple branches. - $20 3. Pokestar Montipora. Fully encrusted - $30 4. Bali green slimer. Looks more yellow than green in my tank conditions, actually looks same as my yellow stag, see in person, hard to capture yellow under blue light anyways =D - $20 5. And lastly, a frag of Red stag that i got from Kaiju about a month or two back. Was meant to share with a friend, but my friend's tank had some problem recently. Multi Branch, with encrusted base. about 4 inches - $100 Mother colony: Please pm me your interest. Collection at siglap. Thanks.
  21. Hi bro, I was running my maxspect for 12hrs with 2 hrs for ramping up and down. I blasted my corals pretty strong, 80% White 100% blue. I dont suggest anyone use this setting right off the bat....acclimatise ur corals and see their response. Its difficult to judge just base off timing and intensity, as the height of the coral in the tank will make a difference too. For 16k, if u need more growth, can consider adding on 2 coral plus. Usually with a 16k spectrum, u should be able to get ur coral colours to pop....if u wanna go for the 20k look, can consider adding more blue plus. Artinic is nice for added fluorescent as well if u have lots of LPS like acan, blastos, elegance, zoas etc etc. By the way, theres no hard and fast rule about what t5 bulbs to use with ur leds. You can use 2 x Blue+, 2 x Coral+, 2 x Artinic, 2 x purple plus...its just supplementing the led to further improve colours or growth. Ur led by right should already be sufficient on its own to provide the necessary growth or colouration u aiming for. Whatever u choose, more importantly, it should be visually appealing for ur eyes.
  22. Yes, all depends on what ur aiming for, and ur maxspect spectrum setting.
  23. Hey bro, good to see your tank coming on nicely. The algae is part and parcel of any new tank. Just add more snails and they will get the job done. Its ok to overload the tank with more snails. As the algae decreases, can give them away to someone else who needs it. Thats what i did Can also consider adding more cheato to encourage more nutrient absorption and lesser nuisance algae growth in main tank. Can also consider starting to run both carbon and phosphate remover to improve water clarity and condition. Ultraphos or rowaphos will do a great job.
