  1. ok, let me post some meaningful contributions. lol I have used both zeovit full system and polyplab reef resh set. Heres my opinion of both: Zeovit I really like this system, but with that said, user has to have really good experience still with keeping corals in the first place. Alot of the blue bottles work as mention, but not all are necessary or works like a miracle drug. You need to learn how to read your corals and dose accordingly. If you look at zeovit schedule, you will notice many of them recommend half or less dosage if combined with another product. Many times, I hear of reefers overdosing on zeovit, and having a nightmare. You also require dedication and commitment to using zeovit, i.e shaking your reactor, daily dosing of basic 4, coming out with a schedule for the rest of the products (and twerking as necessary). The great thing about zeovit is that it actually works as mentioned, and proven on many many tanks. Plenty of support for those who are unsure what to dose. To be honest, zeovit isnt as expensive as it is. Infact, i feel i save alot of money after the switch to zeovit. Many of the blue bottles last me a long time due to the small amount of dosage required. The only things i buy on regular basis is: Zeobak ($24) - once every 3 months, Zeostone ($28)- Once every 2 Months. The rest last me pretty long. Its a big investment to start of zeovit, but u dont feel the pinch later on. Not all the blue bottles are required. Myself? I currently only use the basic 4 + B Balance and coral vitaliser, and getting great results. I was using xtra, flatworm stop, biomate, coral snow, FM colour elements, zeofood7, AAHC, JOD at one point of time, but i have since ceased using all these. Use what you feel works best, not all tanks work the same. Polyplab Reef resh This system worked great on my nano tank, it was simple and straightforward. But honestly, if your tank is any larger than 2ft, I dont recommend u using this. It also wasn't the best solution to my nitrate problems, and had to further supplement with ALGONE pouches. But with that said, I had alot of success keeping sps as a newbie on this system. I feel PLUS and ACIDS work great and its difficult to overdose. The system alone does not allow you much control over colouration of the corals. Again, I will not recommend this for large systems, as the cost of running might be higher than expected. It also lacks a lot of controllability over the other methods mentioned by TS Lastly, I can't comment for the other two method, FM and Prodibio as I've not tried them before. Zeovit is still my favourite of all due to support and controllability. To end it off, I must say that every individual tank system is unique. There is no two similar tanks. Reefer A can use the same products as Reefer B, but not acheive the same results. This is all because of logical reasons....bioload, water volume, frequency of feeding, shaking of reactor, flow through reactor, frequency of water change, quality of water parameters etc etc. Reefer A may keep 3 tangs (Example) and still acheive ULNS, but that doesnt mean reefer B with no tangs can achieve same results. Personally, i keep 10 anthias, 1 tang, 1 angel and satisfied with my coral colours.
  2. This what I feel, in the following order: 1. New priorities in life 2. Lost of passion / Change in hobby 3. Tank Crash 4. Don't have time 5. Cost of running 6. Moving house 7. Upgrading to larger tank 8. Change of new designed tank / sump system 9. Disease and parasites 10. Pest issues 11. No bloody idea how to maintain a healthy saltwater tanks (Constant death of new introduction)
  3. Love your monti island bro!
  4. Nice tank buddy. I agree, the zeovit 14day cycle works like a charm. Mine took 10 days, 14th day sps inside already.
  5. Hi bro, I was on DD Salt. Biggest difference is no more brown deposits in my container. Faster mixing time. So far, Im still on my first box of MM, the kh and ca is pretty consistent. Corals seem to respond well after water changes. As mentioned, in my tank thread, i experience better growth. That said, since mm is a synthetic salt. If u do not provide a proper air tight seal. It is prone to clumping. So always make sure its kept in a dry container, with no chance of moisture entering.

  11. Hi guys, just to share, i believe TS is not overly concerned over the warranty issue. That has been clarified and well understood. I think hes concern is as mentioned in the FB comment... "Reef Depot, i did not buy AI sol, neither did i buy the so called upgrade kit which u mentioned. I can only presume that these upgrade kits are made available to pple already owning AI sol for them to decide if they wish to make the move to upgrade. Once again, it is provided to the person to make an informed decision. In my case, i certainly was not informed neither was i given the chance to make a choice as regards to whether i want an upgraded set or not." I can see where the frustration comes from, I hope both sides can come to an agreeable term. Cheers.
  12. Wow, i like your tank design, cant wait to see more!
  13. Thanks alot bros! Appreciate the encouraging feedbacks!
  14. I've never stored the salt after mixing so I'm not too sure bro. Usually keep a mixing pump inside the container

  19. Both equally good, depends on your budget. I realise that leds need multiple units to really benefit from it.
  20. Nice set up for the calcium reactor, and good media choice! Haha ur sump so congested! Upgrade!
  21. Hi guys! check out my thread for photos and post reviews of this salt mix. Thanks!
  22. Hey guys, just a little update on the tank. Everythings going well. Haven't suffered any casualties at all since the rescape. Thank god for that. Sps are doing better than ever now. Colours are really coming out. I havent actually changed anything except my salt mix to HW marine mix. Also stopped using colour elements. Current maintenance regime: 1. Weekly one barrel of water change - Hw Marine mix left mixing overnight 2. Zeovit Spongepower - 4 drops every other day 3. Zeovit Zeobak - 4 drops twice a week 4. Zeovit Start3 - Morning and evening daily 0.5ml Not dosing any other additives or zeovit products at the moment, seems to be doing well. Perhaps quality of salt makes a difference. Lighting has remained the same: ATI Sunpower Front to back: Blue plus, Coral plus, Blue Plus, AB Special, Purple Plus, Blue plus, Coral plus, Blue plus. Switched on for 8 hrs all 8 bulbs, 10hrs 2x blue plus. Honestly, I want to try supplementing with led strips. But all the led strips out there are just too bloody expensive. Im a really poor reefer, so probably wont be supplementing leds anytime soon. Fish list: 1 Yellow Tang, 1 Flame Angel, 1 Diamondback Goby, 1 Longspine Cardinal, 1 Lemon meringue wrasse, 10 Lyretail Anthias (1 male, 9 Female), 2 Black ice clowns Also, just to share some pics my sister took on her iphone 6. These two pics were taken with default iphone 6 camera, no settings changed. Seems like the photo auto white balance! And heres some pics taken with my sumsung s3 using an app called "A better camera" which has white balance setting set to "cloudy daylight" FYI, I'm a total camera noob, don't own any fancy camera, or have any idea how to set anything. So my phone cam is my best friend. Will end of the post with some beautiful pictures of my trip to phuket. Spent a day at this beautiful place called Koh Ta Chai : Virgin Island. Didn't manage to take alot of photos, as I was enjoying the place more. Place is very local, with little tourist. Absolutely what I was looking for! Also managed to go snorkelling around, but no photos for that, had only my usual trusty sumsung s3. Already have my next trip planned! Surfing at karon beach (phuket) in june! Thanks for reading!
  23. wah sweeeeee la bro. Haha, still so many pieces on the tank floor! One thing i realise though, after a rescape, it feels like a brand new tank, and sparks ur interest and passion in the hobby once again! Thats how i felt after my rescape!
