Hi, need advise here, I have a 1 ft sump tank for my 2 feet display Main tank. After running for 2 month, my main tank parameter was great thank for all bros advise here. Now i realize that there are alot of brown powdery tingy at bottom of sump, cos I do not use sock as they say sock may cause increase in nitrate, using LR , bio home and activated carbon and biO pellets In sump. How do I get rid of the brown powdery tingy at bottom of sump as I may have difficulty as sump is on floor using sucking seems impossible and by scooping may stir up the brown tingy and cause a nitrate spike? Please advise

Have you consider using par38? Cos I m nt sure how much is t5, but I tink par 38 is worth on the long run, I am also starting a iq5 in my office, using Dymax fan and getting a par38 next week

Ya, jus wan to share with bro out there if any one want cut to require size or buy sheet think they do sell jus that I dun have the proper tools to cut the sheet straight so ask the shop to cut it for me. I am not here to advertise jus sharing a place to get acrylic sheet, and cut to require length or shape or glue for u if u lazy like me ! Cheers!

Hi, just found a place to custom made your acrylic if you have any design in mind. Sketch out the design with dimension and pass to the shop at LOO art Signcraft Blk 3026 Ubi rd 1 #01-1042 Singapore 908719 The price is quite reasonable also. My 2 ft tank is having this design as the stand for my Maxspect is protruding out of tank and too long, I decided to custom make less than $80. Will like to share some ideas that I have found.

Thanks for all the advise, I have just install the DI unit, from easy reef from Gary, I really no regret, the TDS pen that come with it read 167 from my tap water, and the distill water it make is 0-1 . Mine is a 5 stage unit and the media I check from Gary is not that expensive. Thanks for all the bros and sis suggestion. Happy New YEar!!

Hi, will like to invest in DI unit, currently using NTUC. Distill water need to buy 1 carton every week very tough n heavy. A few question: 1) what is different in DI and DI / RO unit 2) 3 stage and 5 stage any different? 3) hear there is wastage in water, what is the ratio like? 1 pail of distill water make : half pail waste ? How long to make 1 pail? Need advise before investing get a option from easy reefing quite affordable Thanks

So u mean regardless I add LR or live sand in sump which is a must for LR sand is optional. I must let it cycle first? In short , to add sump I must let it cycle for 2 mnth befre adding to display although using bk my filter media such as biohome and carbon? Any bro out there to sell small lose LR and live sand? If nt v waste one packet live sand I use only 10% my sump only less than 1 ft after minus the return compartment

My tank is 3 month old working on a cannister filter, I intend to add a sump tank now, my question is by adding the sump tank with LR, live sand abd filter media will it affect my livestock with coral.? Hi, I will like to have a sump tank, My display tank is 2 ft by 1ft by 1.5ft height. My available space for sump is at the side which is 30cm x 20cm, as below my display is my daughter hermit crab therefore the only place is beside my display tank cabinet. I was thinking of getting a overflow box and a sump, is this beneficial greatly to my reef tank? If that is the case, thinking of setting a small sump tank with acrylic sheet as they dun customise such a small tank do they? 1ft by 20cm? How is the partition of sump it should be? 2 compartment? Hi, My jewel coral did not open for 2 days but the one on top is opening but not so much. This happen after I apply NP Bio pellets 1 week ago and the nitrate level have went done. My question is , how do we tell weather a coral has die, when it is totally retracted, as I do not want to affect my parameter
