Possible. I had a nano like yours when i first started. Tank + HOB filter. You need to do 20 -30% WC weekly. Get Tunze 9002 or 9004 if you have the extra cash. Basically i still using this setup for my QT.Go to Madpetz for your par38 and holder. Ken have a dry demo setup > nano tank with par38 light and tunze 9002

I bought this skimmer. Have a pilot trial on my 2 feet tank yesterday evening. Managed to pull some nice skimmate this morning. Together with mce300 side by side. I observed Tunze provide comparable result and almost silent.

I used to hv a mce 300 for my my 2 feet. Simple LPS and 2 fishes only. If you are on budget and for long run. For your setup, get BH 1000 or 2000. Its a great working horse that you can from F&M. I get it 4 years ago which is like 200+. It should be slighly more now.

whats is your tank size and bio load ?

I would replace the skimmer to tunze 9004 0r 9001. Keep it simple as 2 feet can easily be upkeep with weekly WC. You only need a decent skimmer , wavaker and good to have chiller.
