Hi bro! When I started reefing, I used a canister filter! First I got myself a sunsun canister with built in uv light. Then I added 1 more canister thinking that it would be better! Indeed it was running perfectly! So I kept it that way, as weeks passed I was curious about the amount of debri that was collected by the canisters! So I didn't know when was the right time to service the canisters! Then I just got too lazy and left them with no service for about 8 months! Now I've totally changed my system! I have a four feet tank and 3 feet sump! It's so much easier to keep an eye on everything! I believe your previous system had a DIY overflow pipe or something like that so chances of problems are there! Best to go with an overflow box built in already! So piping will be much easier! Sump is still the best! Good luck bro!

Bro I'm not a pro but I'll just run through a few stuff! When was the last time your light bulbs were changed? Incorrect or old bulbs can lead to algae bloom. What time does your algae scrubber light come on? It's best to come on when the main tank lights are off! Ensure that you're using a good test kit to check phos! Don't forget to check other parameters! Get an algae blenny! No drastic changes! Do things one at a time! You gotta nice tank! Hope it looks more "alive" soon! IMHO try to keep things as simple as you can! Cause when something goes wrong, you might not be able to trace back with so many equipments and stuff! Hope everything works well! Good luck bro!
