ATS is good to have but it needs a lot of maintenaince, need to scrube every few days

is best to have both coz ATS prevents algae growth in your main tank, all algae will concentrated in the ATS where lots of flow and lights available, this is the main usage of ATS that seem most has forgotten... ATS is to export nutrients and control algae growth in main tank, try ATS if you ave algae problem, that's one problem skimmer can't help.

ya but if lowest setting still too strong then chamlor...

for main factors I'll go for whichever gives me low initial investment cost & low long term operational cost Personally I feel LED for aquariums is still way over priced...

anyone know if wp40 suitable for 3ft tank? or wait for wp25?

what so special about this psu? i tested 12v 5a psu and is dead after an hour due to overheat...

I see, so adding a 10W resistor is one way to do it too i guess, thats what I saw how the leds shop at slt conect to their 10w display leds.

so what is the best way for such setup? direct driver?

I'm using 12v dc 5a psu and leds in parallel connection

can use same size of pipe and add ball valve to return & overflow pipe to control the flow is one option

i use something similar for my 3ft tank as secondary light, can switch colours with remote, just add more strips if want brighter.

can drive direct from power adaptor but will kill the adapter very fast coz of overheat.

haven't got time to look for 10w resistors for each led...
