  8. Should carbon be used in a SPS tank where dosing of Trace elements is used to enhance coloration of SPS? Please advise =)

Also, can an Efficient skimmer such as MCE600 on a 24G replace the use of Carbon?

      bacteria can't do everything.

phenol consuming bacteria cannot be found in our tanks i'm most sure. it's a bioremediation bacteria.

best to use carbon anyway. no harm :)

    4. AloysiusMun

      AloysiusMun

Lemon, I think u are right about phenol consuming bacteria. Thanks! =)

  9. My current dream is to own an AquaIllumination with the controller for my tank. =)

  12. Ups for a Very Generous Reefer! Learnt a lot through sharing too! Those at his place should definitely check out his over the rainbow acro. Amazing piece.
  13. Now is the time to be patient, tweak dosing to optimum and just wait till my corals color up nicely.I give it 3 months. =)

You will make it bro !!!

      AloysiusMun

I certainly hope I can! Hahaha.

Maybe adding a few SPSes that have already colored up from you will help cure the itch!

Aiming a few already. Fire and Ice, Rose millie, Ocean blue prostrata and Rounded Pink BN.

      EXPENSIVE. Hahaha.

  14. The more I see the more I cannot tahan too! Will visit you in 2 weeks time very busy with School work now, hopefully the SPS I am aiming for is still available then!
  15. Go google Acro crabs. If your crab looks like a white crab with a black mark across its probably safe. If its hairy you better be careful, highly likely its not reef safe.
  16. Can an Acropora crab host on a Humilis?

Ultralith is able to maintain UNLS state and still maintain strong non-pastel colors via the supply of organics and nutrients by the products Ultra organics and Ultra Amin. If I remember correctly the natural PO4 levels in the ocean is 0.005ppm so I guess ULNS is around that level.

I ran a search online and seen Ultralith system users with Nice Deep coral coloration.

Dosing Powertraces help too. Basically these are trace element addictives. Currently dosing PT2 and PT3.<...

    3. AloysiusMun

      AloysiusMun

      Currently dosing PT2 and PT3.

Ultralith system requires an active participation from the user to reach its optimum as you gotta determine how much of each component to dose to get your system to its optimum. Though there's the simpler way of just dosing according to instruction. =)

Yep, my Radioactive and Chili peper monticap is located in the middle level of my 1.5ft depth tank. Very excited about my SPSes! =D

MY ACRO CRABS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE! =D

They are constantly moving around my stags! Hehe.

  17. I used Selley's underwater epoxy as well. Just that it will cause my Skimmer to go crazy for about a day.
  18. Hey FuEL can Pm me the price of the Liopropoma swalesi? Thanks!
  19. Keeping SPS is very interesting. Even though its such a challenge to keep it and to get its color, so many of us are still going against the mountain trying all ways and means to get the SPSes to its Prime. Hahaha =)

Yep, that's an area most sps wannabe overlook, sometime all it needs is time to colour up !

U got the poison liao... Lol

    4. AloysiusMun

      AloysiusMun

And I think its quite deep too. Trying to get the optimal level of dosing for the Ultralith system gotta monitor on and off. Hahaha.

  20. You could also consider dosing Potassium iodide. Basically, Iodine solution. I find that it helps with the coloration of zoas. Yep!
