  1. Hi guys! Looking to trade a healthy frag of pulsing xenia and a spiny star snail for bubble, moon or sun coral. Or any cool lps! Thanks!
  2. I'm using the al30 thermoelectric chiller. I think under 25 litres, down to 25 deg is the max performance.
  3. I'll be sure to keep a close eye. I've been told it spreads like wild fire. Thanks again everyone for the heads up!
  4. See its experience like these that are priceless. I'll monitor it. Honestly it was cool for a few days. Now it's just leans towards the other corals in the tank.
  5. Wise words. Strangely the very exact words I used to convince the other half. Explained it like instagram filters but in real life. [emoji2]
  6. So yes, if you just want a lps and soft coral tank, you can get one for a lot less than what your expect. I realised in my short journey, the trick isn't in keeping to a fixed budget. But rather, not falling for the allure of sps corals and the thrill of the challenges they bring. I guess this concludes my journey in building a piece of the ocean with a tight budget. Ill continue to update with what I've got. But it's really gonna be ludicrous from here on out. Cuz the lights I ordered are already 200usd.lol. Ill prolly have another budget price for a sps tank. So stay tuned!
  7. Hi all, I found this in my sandbed anything to worry about?
  8. That being said. I think my budget experiment has been positive so far. My nett spending for the tank is 460 ish with a mini chiller Or under $300 without and using evaporation as your means of cooling. The cost to run a flourishing sps tank is in progress haha Here's a pic of the Duncan finally accepting his new home. Nice and open with the lights off And here's a pic under blue lights from the rainbow
  9. Before I get any flame for putting sps with rainbow lights Haha, I started out with lps and soft corals in mind only. I got distracted by sps corals in iwarna. So I have an ai prime on its way from the states. TEEHEE
  10. New additions are the zoos Green hammer And twice the amount of live rock. Spend the whole of last week adding and rescaling. Water changes cuz the Duncan didn't really appreciate moving so much. Final fts after all the addition and rockscaping as above. Some sps frags from a nice reefer. It's currently 4 days in the tank under rainbow stock leds. Hasn't turn brown yet bout I doubt I'll get any growth or bright colours.
  11. My clown has decided the Duncan is his best bet for hosting lol
  12. OK my nitrates are coming down and here's what I did. I tackled the source as well as did larger wc. Make sure you change out your filter wool, rinse your bio media if it's been sitting there for awhile (lightly rinse with Di water to just flush the detritus), and also try target feeding your fishes and corals with the pumps off. With wc, lightly stir up and vac the very top layer of your sand bed, and do 20-25%. Quite likely, with your bioload, your water change only removes the same amount of trates being introduced. So introduce less, take out more. Hope this helps.
  13. Little diy project. The middle part is for chaeto. Yes. I'm thinking of putting chaeto in the ios lol
  14. Hey guys, successfully target fed my Duncan two to three pellets of ocean nutrition formula one. They are now bloated at the mouths. This is normal yes?
  15. You need to have another hole to pet air in if not the water will not drip as there's no air to displace the space inside the bottle. Look at the other bottle design, there are two holes. One for air (shorter adjusted to tank water level) and longer for water
