  1. my butt was a bit itchy and i went ahead to install a mp10 into my small small tank... which mode should i set it too and at what strength? any suggestions? I have mine at 50% short pulse alot of water splashed around the place... hahaha... switch it to reefcrest at smallest power for now...
  2. Thanks bro! Got most of them from nice folks here!
  3. I think you can just leave it in there till it rots away Nh and no2 undetectable should point u to the right direction bro...
  4. If I'm not wrong you have 3 compartments behind with the first 2 being usable. IMHO if u want to put mechanical sponges, etc, I would put in first compartment and leave the biohome in the second compartment. Do change it 1-2 a month... I prefer going the biological way though... Have fun bro!
  5. I will vote for a complete restart since tank is small...
  6. Not an expert here but could assist with some concerns you have raised. 1) I personally think the skimmer for the iq5 is not necessary and you could focus more time on regular water change as a form of nutrient export. However since u already bought it, I understand that it is a airstone skimmer so I guess u would require some form of air input... Doing an online search should yield you some decent results. 2) you might want to consider including a fan/chiller to keep temperature done... We reside in a ridiculously hot country. Maybe something to increase water movement within the tank? 3) you could get your hands on a refractor meter think most LFS carry them.. Accurate, convenient 4) many around. Check out some of the sponsors here 5) media wise you could use some biohome, ultralith, mechanical filter like sponge (do remember to change regularly) activated carbon and some form of nitrate/phosphate export... Fish only may not be necessary Have fun bro!
  7. Iq5, 1 bottle should last u at least a couple of days
  8. Go buy a few big bottles of distilled water from supermarket and use for top ups... Avoid tap water at all cost...
  9. Thanks for the kind words bro... Zoa for me is no easy feat too...
  10. hmm... have been looking at my tank and dun really like the rockwork (cos i am obviously not very good at it) and contemplating on rescaping.... do you think its wise to do so at this stage? My thoughts, buy liverock, scape and cycle seperately before replacing current scape... any suggestions would be welcome
  11. nothing compared to many beautiful ones out here
  12. I also facing the same problem.... using phosban and ultralith with daily dose of ultrabak... somehow hair algae appearing too... havent test NO3 and PO4 yet but i only feed a small pinch of reefpearl every other day... no idea why too... i just double up the dose of phosban (still within safe range) hoping it will be better... i was reading on RC that if the algae consumes NO3 and PO4 it may continue to remain undetectable results on our test kits.... tangs tend to stop munching on algae if they eating the food you provide..... inverts seems to be a better choice.... if anyone finds a nice solution do update!
  13. Nvm la, shall just make do with what I have now first....
  14. Haha... I ever thought of that but unfortunately I am fat... Hahaha
  15. Nice tank Wished I had the space for a sump too...
  16. Regarding the gobies, I got them from CF think might still have... So far 1 shrimp goby commuted suicide rest ok... Flame goby is first fish all still ok... Had an accident awhile back when fighting with 1 clown and jump out of tank in middle of the "battle"... Spent close to 15mins digging it out from btw the tables... Though it was a goner but somehow he survived...
  17. RushAct, orgkogy and jythong, thanks for the kind words... Unfortunately tank really too small... Trying my best la
  18. Thanks for them kind words bro... Running outta space soon
  19. I think Bubble Magnus is quite reasonably priced but if u need spot on accuracy other German brands might be better... For 2 feet you could possibly dose Ca, Mg and Kh But I heard got other compositions worth considering too --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?e0ked4
