If u can afford the time, weekly change of 10-20% is good...

U do not have to worry about bacteria as majority of them will host in the sand/liverock or any available medium... Ur bacteria dosing should be constant and not just only when cycling... Diatoms will naturally go away with good husbandry and maintenance...

Have u tried adjusting the air intake? The long stick that can turn n turn?

Most corals will swell up la... If doesnt means the end is near... Colour swollen or not to me is insignificant
-
RTN - Rapid Tissue Necrosis - All tissue on the coral gone quickly... U will see the white skeleton of the coral STN - Slow Tissue Necrosis - same thing just slower Bleach - u can still see the tissue and polyps, just that there are white
-
Bleach means it is losing it's symbiotic zoox... It could be releasing due to excessive light or stressed out conditions.... Given the state of ur tank I will presume its the latter

Wrong lighting spectrum, extensive photoperiod, premature addition of livestock, excessive feeding, release of nutrients from poor quality liverocks (including base rock of corals), multiple reasons for excessive nutrients...

Diatom to me, just let it ride out, cut down light, stop adding new stock, reduce feeding, use proper equipment and practice proper husbandry...

Ur only and best solution -
Eel need big tank, pls read about the livestock u are getting prior to even consider adding them in... Why bother to buy and see them die?

Bro, when u were young ur parent care for u, how troublesome also they no complain... Today finally u are grown up, they can finally relax and enjoy something they like, we as children should support!!

No matter how troublesome, how irritating, how problematic or even expensive to see a smile on their face is like the day you gave them ur first smile or call them bro...

Anyway, i still think its weird for u to purposely ship in when there are so many cost effective option for skimmer in singapore... Needless say water change, maybe u can consider to rope in to help their frail bodies with the amount of water...

Have fun bro -
Whats ur lighting like?

I will presume u are using the OF tank, given its height, most like will suffice hence as long as its not under complete shade it will be fine...

Like it or not, most fishes are scavengers and opportunist... If u dun mind taking the risk, i would suggest starving the tang by feeding only mysis... In time u will get it to feed...

U can also try to feed it some lettuce if u cant get ur hands on nori...

My guess is its just not willing to feed... -

Yup... They are available...

Some will topple some wont, some gobies do not topple but when they are "eating" ur sand they made drop the sand on top of ur corals...

If small frags, better to glue la -

You can consider adding a sand shifting star, nassarius snails and/or sand goby... They help stir up and keep ur sand clean.... -

Canister filter is still possible (although not most ideal) if u constantly clean it...

Alot of times (even when i was in fresh water) i am damn lazy to wash the canister... But if u do a regularly, it will still suffice...

U can look at other options like biopellets, rowa, or similar products to control ur nutrients... Also limit feeding, remove unfinished food and also slow down on adding livestock and u should still be able to do it...

Happy reefing bro -
Bro, next time put charity word infront... I see duncan i didnt even open the thread... Hahaha

Support support

$200
jxlex replied to seahorserider's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
Anyway its seem like a norm nowadays... Alot of ppl are just buying and reselling for profits...

I always have a believe that the pasar malam section is meant for the community to trade/sell within each other so that we can keep cost low while expanding our collection...

If u provide them a good home, they multiply, i think if u wanna sell n make some profits, thats fine by me... So many ppl are just buying for the purpose of fragging and reselling... Sigh... Livestocks are put through so much stress nowadays... We plug mother natures children out of sea but dun even provide them decent homes... Sad -
