  1. Oh ya, why didnt i think of testing with home drinking water?? its light blue from top down leh.... thats why im quite surprise too.... i did a test yesterday after 10% water change still the same... will try with plain water and update again... headache... You buy the controller, (which looks somewhat similar to the growtec ones) and 3 jerry cans from him and ask him help you setup? i think its $300+ almost $400... but problem with that is the 3 jerry can side by side almost a meter wide.... quite unsightly... still thinking still thinking...
  2. Thats why i suspect im reading my testkit wrongly. COnfirmed not expired though... Cos all my corals open like nobody's business... when i use salifert do i have to divide by something or what i see is what i get? 4 drops of PO1 swirl a little, 1 scoop of PO2 swirl for 30sec then read... only i not sure i should be which i should be reading cos instruction says "The phosphate values are in ppm phosphate. If you prefer a reading in ppm Phosphate-Phosphor then divide the reading by 3." Uber confused. I getting Iwarna to help with the dosing pumps for now first but no reviews yet until i try la I trying to get my equip up then if possible, plunge into SPSs too but equipment first la else no point anyways.... Can anyone advice if the way im testing is correct? thanks thanks
  3. oic... ya i think its dosing pump + jerry can setup la.... it will be best if i can go for either cos space headache man... ahahaha.... bro for your info! will sit down n really consider.... What is a good phospate remover? btw, how do you manage your PO4 levels without a remover? i do a 10% WC everyweek and only started volka dosing 4 days back... current even after water change i still track a PO4 level of 1ppm leh... i using salifert test kits but not sure if im doing it right...
  4. Hi folks Getting a little confused over the various reactors available and their uses... I understand the Calcium Reactor is used to ensure calcium and kh levels are in check, but what about the others? I'm planning of installing a calcium reactor and another reactor to keep my phosphate levels in check, which one should i be looking at? I see phosban reactor, fr, etc... which is the best options? i got very limited space so the reactors have to be a standalone outside the sump... i also just got a dosing system, which will come by later this week... super confused... and to think i wanted to keep my setup cheap when i first started.... all forany advice in advance...

  9. bro lemon, how come must place on the sand huh? Just curious... i stupidly epoxy it down somemore Yup, will try to get it to open up with tlc... lol... the other frag doing alot better but cos at left side of tank harder to take photo... Also, how to feed the red lobophyllia properly huh?
  10. Hahaha.... its the power of primes omit the "Good photographer" part...
  11. I use mainly either a 50/100mm prime macro f2.8... have to take into considerations refraction also la... that one cannot control one... but if your tank scaped for front viewing then take from front should be ok ba... For wide shots i change to 31mm/40mm prime quick lens also can... but macro gives you the additional benefits of being able to focus on subjects that are really close to your lens... Use a hood to block out lights coming from other directions... should work la...
  12. Thanks bro. I using a DSLR with Prime Macro Lens... depending on lighting conditions ISO100 and my f-stop ranges between f2.8 - f9. Use a tripod & window up to prevent unnecessary shaking la... cos fully manual ctrl so easier to achieve sharper photo la...
  13. Some new additions to my tank 2 days back... Was told this is anemone coral Some red stuff (whats the name btw) Orange Yuma (have green lips leh but dunno why photo come out cannot see) Some plate with orange lips n green tentacles This is a sun right? (got 2 frags... about thumb size) One of the sps frag given to me to "try out" The other 2 frags given (the one at bottom left was told is some Rhotahids or smthg, given by a nice bro here) More later la...
  14. Lovely... just pure brilliant!
  15. sure thing bro.... just trying out and enjoying it... hoping to build smthg decent outta my reef
  16. Thanks bro... enjoying it up till now the folks here are wonderful!!!
  17. I have attached a map.... if you drive down changi road (westward) there are alot of hardware shops selling it and i myself bought it at $7 i think... good for 2" PVC tube upper changi road - Google ..pdf
  18. actually if you dun mind travelling, along upper changi road near eunos/kembangan area has lots of hardware wholesalers and they carry a wide range of PVC hardware stuff... i bought most of my stuff there... so far so good
  19. Unfortunately $$$ is something that is never enuf... i am constantly debating and considering between starving myself of booze or upgrading my tank and equip... though the former sounds feasible, i just cannot commit to it so i guess the upgrading has to be done in stages.... ahahahahaa Tested my nitrate and phosphate levels with salifert before i started the dosing... intent to test it on a daily basis to ensure everything stays in tab... Will probably be starting my iodine and KH testing these few days Currently testing weekly PH, NH, NO2, NO3, CA, MG, Salnity... quite sloppy la... slowly slowly shaping up... i dun think will wack on sps as yet la... they happened to be free frags thats why i have them inside, else, will still stick to my LPS and softies for the time being until i am certain regime and parameters are stable before wacking anything else...
  20. ~WHO lives in a pineapple under the sea.......
  21. Okok... cos i went down to a LFS that day and aunty gave me 3frags of SPS to test test (poisoning me) thats why i decided to up to 8 tubes and start volka and iodine dosing.... I still considering on the MH cos i scared overkill also.... too much of good stuff also becomes bad.... The dosing system is quite reasonably priced but the space and aesthetics... sigh... still considering...
  22. Thanks bro for your kind comments. So far i have no intentions of adding fishes yet. so i think will just leave it alone first la... i am monitoring it very closely and will act once i see trouble fro this guy...
  23. Ya alot of stuff i confused too... sometimes i wish i were spongebob...
