  3. "Life" brand from ntuc seems like a popular choice... I use it too no issues so far r, AP send via tapatalk
  4. Alternatively u can consider adding a hang on filter, serves the same purpose and gives you extra space for additional nutient exporting medium... r, AP send via tapatalk
  5. I think if u have space for a powerhead u will have space for a small heater bro... Its like 2cm across x 20cm in length... But then again, its your tank its your choice r, AP send via tapatalk
  6. You looking for them quite long already ya... Anyway item 1-3 u can consider visiting another fresh water forum if u really dun wanna get new ones... 4 & 5 - best you go get new ones la.. Good luck r, AP send via tapatalk

  9. Hi folks, Just wondering if any kind souls can advice how best to store a used chiller for future use... Im starting to acquire equipments for my new tank and procured a 1 week old used chiller from a nice bro here. As it was previously used, there is salt water inside, should i flush out the water? If so how should i clear all the water? (meaning even if i flush w non saltwater there shld still be water left inside right?) I was previously adviced to leave the water inside but not sure if my memory still stand true... I intend to use in within the next month. Thanks much in advance r, AP send via tapatalk
  10. U might get better opinions from arofanatics..
  11. Lol... Tat would have been interesting... Might be detrimental to the whole cycling process too
  12. I think u should have placed the sand during the initial setup Anyway, it might be a good idea to use a wave maker or power head to blow the substrate off ur LR, alternatively just suck them out with a really small hose (I use an air tube). Hope it helps
  13. Personally I dun suggest using any fishes no matter how hardy the fishes are... I like the 6line wrasse for worms and stuff but there are reports out there that they may turn aggressive and also deprive the system of many beneficial pods and stuff due to their constant munching... Sea stars u can consider harlequin shrimp (spelling), algae and stuff the usual cleanup crews (snails, abalone, urchin, etc) Crabs and other stuff I have no experience, normally just pick them off at night when lights are out with small moonlight led or smthg...
  14. Actually if u could u should... Helps remove off that top layer of scumb which builds up after a while... Doesn't ur iOS suck from the top?
  15. peeps like this shoud just be blacklisted... sorry for hjking ur thread...
  16. Nice will be very useful in our hot climate!
  17. My tank is smaller actually 1x1x13.5" thereabouts... I using 2 x Par38 and 1 x ecoxotic led (spelling error)... Able to hold colors and color up my sps pretty well (IMHO)... What's the temp of your tank like? Might want to consider a small chiller if necessary...
  18. For softies and zoas lighting should suffice... Probably would need to kick up your lighting alot more...
  19. 1 unit Par38 should suffice, good price
  20. It seems like there is something clearly wrong with your water/water condition. Tank ain't big and if you really want to enjoy yourself in this hobby, you might want to consider changing out your old stuff and start from scratch... Like what other bros here said, cycle it well, utilise the vast supply of information provided here and your future fishes might stand a chance...
  21. Madpetz should have... Iwarna has alternatives
  22. Hmm... So far haven't seen the skimmer pick up before, maybe really tiny ones but I could be wrong...
  23. Regarding the algae, make some effort and remove them... If u like the algae u can leave it there I guess
