PH buffer?

I guess they do call live rocks for a reason, even more so for ones gathered from the wild, highly possible there will still be hitchhikers no matter how well it has been treated, etc... but quality liverocks still give you a good advantage over some lousy ones...

Its not purchased ready made bro, i used sketchup to draw with measurements then went down to King George (new lavender MRT) and begged the guy to cut the aluminium into exact size for me. Cost dependant on size but its not necessarily "cheap". buy the components, ask for stainless steel and you are ready to go home assemble. lemme noe should you require further information i try my best to help

After meddling with my 1ft tank for the past few months, i have again stupidily decided to take another step and bring a tank back home. With much persuation from the monsters at home and "encouragements" from the CFO i went ahead to procure a 2' x 2' x 2.5'(h) tank from a nice reefer here. This time round with 2 years of reading (thank you SRC ),multiple experiments with my old 4' and my office 1' and of course the endless sharing session with the nice folks here and at LFS, i should be in slightly better shape. Some details of my setup: Tank: 2'(L) x 2'(W) x 2.5'(H), 12mm thick with internal top and bottom overflow (Back breaking work!) Sump: 1.5'(L) x 2'(W) x 1'(H) - 2 compartments Cabinet: Solid wood + Hood Lighting: Radion XR30W (Articial Mode) Wavemaker: 1 x Vortex MP10 (Upgrading soon) + 1 x Tunze (Cant remember model) Chiller: Hailea HS28A Skimmer: BM NAC 3.5 Reactor 1: TLF Phosban 150 with NPX Biopellet Reactor 2: TLF Phosban 150 with Phosban & Activated Carbon Dosing: BM 3 way currently dosing C-Balance AB, looking for a Mg supplement Supplements: Ultralift media in net bag, BioDigest, Julien Spring Reef Elements, Ultrabak, Bac7 Saltmix: undecided yet but good chance gg for H2Ocean Tank has been cycling since early November and currently only contains inverts for clean up purpose. Will slowly be introducing my corals from the office tanks and of course wallet burning purchases. Fish wise still deciding as tank is small do not wanna add a tank full norms. Scaping wise, i decided to scape dead rocks this time round to remove the hassle of hitchhikers, die offs and many more issues i am not comfortable with. Hence the longer cycling period too. Massive amounts of epoxy and expoxy form used Will appreciate any comments/feedbacks from the expert here in case (as usual ) i screw something up again Some pics to start of this thread. Scaping in progress: Almost complete scape in tank w/o water: With Water (bac bloom from BP): Sump w/o dosing yet (yes, i agree its a mess): DIY Aluminium light stand (Thanks to bro James for his inspiration! ) to be continued...

Another thing irealised after a few times is zoa eating nudi. the coloyr of the nudi is very close to the zoa it is eating... Can spot when lights out w small uv light... I used 6 line wrasse the last time round, afterwhich no see again... Best to dip ur coral in either coralrx or equivilent or fresh water or both to chase out as much hitchikers as possible, google on it and u will have the methods right away... For me is 1 -2mins soak di water then trsf to coralrx mix with power head for bout 5-15mins then deep saltwater again for 5-15mins before i introduce into tsnk. better be safe then sorry send via tapa

TLF Phosban reactor 150 can run out of tank but for biopellet need rather big pump so not sure if suitable. i personally run both biopellet n phosban + carbon so far so good. Btw, for small tank salt mix better choice can either buy or mix urself... When im too busy i also go find madpetz to buy premix so far oso no issues send via tapa

Wats ur lighting like? Looks rather stretched. Anyway, did u check for parasites or dip before putting in? Sometimes could be something irritating them... Dun look like dying yet though send via tapa

Any seniors here have any suggestions? send via tapa

try to do a bigger water change ~20% or so with quality salt mix and run some media (biopellets, etc), reduce feeding (food adds waste, fish adds waste) over time should help

Hi bros,Just to check if anyone could advice. My tank appears to very having some issues which i cant resolve.it has been running fine for close to 1.5 mths but yesterday i suddenly notice that my top tank's water level is going down while my sumps water level seems to remain constant.it has an internal overflow so theoratically that should not happen (sump - main tank - overflow back to sump) , anyone has any idea why? Water is still flowing down system still running so im quite confused... What could be the possible cause? Thanks much in advance :)send via tapa
