1. Personally for an established tank, yes i will agree with smaller changes more regularly... For bro starmosa's tank i really dun think will make much diff...
 2.

Sometimes i think no choice especially since his paras are probably going haywire... Lol
 3. I mean, how can it be burnt/bleach if only the bottom kena? Shouldnt the tips kena first?
 4. The tips of coral face the light, the bottom burn??? Dun think so... Check ur parameters... I feel its the start of stn again... Try checking ur KH... U shldnt have bleaching only today after it has been in ur tank for so long...

Of course u have 0 for no3 n po4, u have so much hair algae to consume ur nutrients... How to test accurately?

5. Test over the next few days... U should start seeing ammonia go up, go down followed by nitrite go up, go down and lastly nitrate go up... Once nh4 & no2 = 0, u are good to go
 6. Ehh... The "DI" in Ro/di and di from supermarket different leh...

Bottled is DIstilled

Ro/di = reverse osmosis, De-Ionised

Both can use but is diff

FYI - Distilled water should have 0 in all parameters i think... Distilled vs drinking vs mineral are all different type of "water"
 7. Bought from a bro here but unsuitable for what i have in mind... $25, details in thread link below:

)

Photos:

Pls be inform gsp no longer attached...

Pm me if interested, collection siglap.

Tks
 8. Fast loading... Try removing the algae and do a test on ur nutrients levels again. Might point u in better direction... Algae consumes nutrients faster then u can imagine... Attach a toothbrush to the mouth of the hose with the other end connected to a filter bag/sock, etc that shld minimise "flying" around... U definitely need so cleanup crews to keep the algae in check...

Wave maker might not suffice given ur tank size... Hows the major parameters coming along? Remembered u having some issues with them just a couple of days back...

9. Bro, unsure best just remove... Im more inclined to what bro iskay IDed too
 10. My answer would clearly follow ur last sentence... Patience

Imho, u might wanna try another brand of test kit just to be sure... Ur carbonate reading seems weird
 11. Ya its to set the strength of the flow... Turn and wait for awhile (3-5mins), if the wave too big, lower dwn abit and wait again... The reverse is true... Once satisfied just lock it so u wont accidentally adjust it... Repeat: After every adjustment wait about 3-5mins for the wave to properly form, its not immediate turn n it happens... If not mistaken manual states 10mins but i think dun need that long
 12. sps needs more than low nutrients... There is also major elements like CA, KH & MG (which to me is a pain to adjust), micro elements, stable parameters, correct lighting, etc not to mention good husbandry... All these come with time. Your tank will need time to be chemically stable and in balance... Just remember we are plucking a life off a huge water tank to place into out small enclosed system... Give mother nature a chance too bro Btw ur WP40 can set to W1 mode and slowly tune from there to get ur desired wave mode...
 13. In think it will not be a good idea to have anything place right in front of the wavebox exit... The constant and direct flow causes the tissue to tear off in my opinion...
 14. Haha... Thanks bro... Still not there yet leh... Need to give it more time to acclimatize to the new lighting... Never lose color i very happy liao!
 15. Hey... Its good rest away from work and kids man
 16. Why not bro? Just spend some time reading and understanding and you will be on your way!
 17. Yes bro... Only FM products for now other then carbon n rowa... If its not broken dont change it! Haha
 18. Thanks bro... I try my best... More to learn from experts like u
 19. Thanks for ur kind comments... Yes it so pack i cannot find a suitable location to place any more... Sigh... wished some1 can invent an arm extension sensitive and delicate enough for me to mount them at the lower part of the tank... Just aint able to reach it! @macro- bro i think you are right... The id is alot closer... I suck at id... Haha... Give it a few more months then come cut la.... Let it grow wild for awhile more! Haha
 20. long time no updates.... so lazy... got a new toy recently and decided to try out with some photos... if anyone can help me ID those i can i will really appreciate!! recent addition from east clinic: some green stag with blue tips and other stuff i will appreciate if some one can help ID the purple one with green polyps: Can someone help ID the 3 at 8pm, 11pm & 1pm? My top right rock. ID for 5pm welcomed. Green base pink tips: Same rock ID for 6pm welcomed! My millie corner... can guess how many types on that small piece of rocks One of my favourite I think is an A.hyacinthus ( pls correct me if im wrong) Some random shot... this guy is more yellowish actually: ridiculously packed digi corner with a.carolina and a variety of acros and stuff: birdnest, valida, etc... no space liao... sigh Thanks in advance!
 21. Try Joe's Juice... Always works for me
 22. skimmer wont be much of an issue with your regular WC.... I used to suck out detritus everyday and replace water accordingly followed by a 20% everyweek. did not have a nutrient issue. Chiller on the other hand might pose a small problem. Maybe u can consider one of those ice probes thingy, its relatively small have seen it done the trick. imho i do agree with bro james72, monti seems very much more forgiving compared to the birdnest.
