  1. Hey don't cultivate bubble algae (valonia)....you will regret it. They are worse than caulerpa...once it get in you can never get it out. They'll cover all the lr.
  2. IMO all caulerpa species are about the same......they sometime do very well sometime don't. They are 'sensitive' algae...changes in salinity will normally trigger them to go asexual and melt.....but they are good nutrient exporter cos they grow very fast. I'm trying to move away from caulerpa as I find them doing too well to the point of them covering my corals. I am having the grape type. I find that if they over grow to a very large 'colony'......going asexual is a sure thing to happen. So you have to pull them out before it reaches that stage.
  3. I can't think of 1 that will go well with it. Too small and it will be eaten and too big, don't think your tank can handle unless your tank is the size of underwater world sentosa
  4. 8 is possible but only 1 male and the rest females
  5. Everything is possible..... You must at least state what you have in the tank or is the tank still cycling or what?
  6. DA do you have a pic how a Pseudanthias truncate look like.... PM me on how much you paid for the purple ok Thanks
  7. DA....what are fairy anthias? How is your purple queen getting on?
  8. Robe if you are paying my elect bill....then I go for 1000watters Saw the blue stag in the background......look super blue......mine's not that impressive Is it under 250 or 400?
  9. Robe....your pics tell me I need to increase my lights Nice growth for the pink milli........only wish mine would grow that fast Colouring up very nice also.
  10. The pic in the link look exactly like a alpha male dispar....... Check out this pic from fishbase Flame anthias
  11. It depends on what you have in the tank and how many % of water you are going to replace.
  12. In the 1st place you should not use this kind of filter.......don't think it can handle the waste generated by the fishload and what ever you keep in the tank. This is more for fresh water as the fishes are more tolerant of high nutrient level and water change is relatively easy. Since you are using it, you can put what ever inert filter media you want......filter media are almost the same for marine or fresh. It just a substrate for the denitrifying bacteria to grow.
  13. Could you please be more specific...you are using a fountain filter ......how does it look like?
  14. Keep an eye on the patches.....and see whether the patches grow bigger. It does not look like RTN to me......cos if rtn you lose it very fast. If it spread....like what mv3i say....time to frag.
  15. This is a interesting article that all should read. Mything the Point: Part One
  16. No problem to maintain at this level if you don't intend to keep invert.
  17. Flubber....how come you drag me into this........... I don't want to be as popular as you OK
  18. Just make sure you don't lean too hard.. I go inside my tank to set it up......that the easiest way to do. Once filled with water then have to put my diving mask........so far haven't done this yet, no need to.
  19. Good water condition.............same properties and nutrient level as the water found around the coral reefs.
  20. Don't take everything you you read as the truth....you only in this hobby for only a few months Giving advise from experience is good but giving advise base from what you read is doubtful If the info was gather from the web....state that it cames from there so if the person who follows it and don't have good results then you are not to blame. Hope you know what I mean.
