  1. danano You don't have to do that .....your wife is already very supportive of your hobby.
  2. LP Nice fish......keep us updated on the progress. Nice tank too.... When and where did you get the very nice purple monti cap?
  3. Nope.....yours is a monster, mine less than a meter
  4. Sorry reserved already.....very fast reply Please stop PM me OK
  5. This is a frag from a colony, want to give away. This is the common type found in most LFS I think. Collection at my place this weekend. PM me if you are interested.
  6. LP Hope you get the answer to your question of whether a reactor is more effective and cheaper than dosing.
  7. Remember answering your question in another thread someday back!
  8. Don't ask! You can't afford to keep them alive.
  9. Maybe not 50 but some nos closer to it You got your ARM media? Don't expect this kind of result from coral chips huh.......unless you use pure vineger
  10. Don't think it is good for a lion to be in a sps tank......how the poor fish going to swim? Think most of the time will be stuck to the sps clinging and hoping that it will not be swept away
  11. Would suggest that you cut down on your feeding of the fishes. It takes a long time but it will go away someday. I used to have a byopsis tank, those who have seen it can vouched for it.
  12. Kenji80 The different betwen SE and DE is the way the bulb is mounted. SE is like your normal screw on incandescent blub wherelse DE look like a flourescent where the contact is at both ends. DE lack the UV protective glass jacket so it is very important to have a UV sheilding glass or else it will give your corals a really bad sunburn
  13. 2 pieces of 250W MH would be the ideal choice since your tank is 2ft deep.
  14. Marcus A bit confuse as to when you started the setup, your LR is 2 weeks old and your fishes are in the tank for 3 weeks Can you provide your tank water parameters and also the size of your tank. About the "grass"/plants, do they look like hair algae something like that?
  15. You can put in a Copperband Butterfly, this fish should be safe with your corals. If you have and tubeworms or coco worms them guess you can forget about putting a butterfly in your tank.
  16. So you think people here are rich We buy what we can afford....you don't see us rushing to buy $300 firefish or $200++ black tang I know of a couple of student like you but they don't go round asking for donation for their tank....
  17. If you can't afford to buy your own stuff, you should not go into marine fish keeping......better still don't start any hobby that is going to cost $$$ Wait till you have money then start and it will not be too late
  18. Joe, finally you admit that you will sweat while viewing your tank
  19. If you don't go for MH...your choice of lighting is limited. With T5 you can as I say squeeze in more tube than you can do it with PL or FL. This will give you the intensity. Wattage per gallon rule does not apply for marine reef keeping. If you have a waterproof lux meter....then measure the intensity of the light at the different depth with different lighting source then you will know what is the best lighting.
  20. Squeese as many T5 as possible over the whole cross section of the tank.
  21. Are you sure it is red algae and not red cyanobacteria Post a pic so as the guys here can confirm it for you.
