  1. thanks for the reply these look different from those we usually see at Ah Beng in terms of colors presume same requirements? where are these from in terms of region?
  2. The contribuitions made by you and digi and terryz (i rem somewhere he did talked about this fishy) is really phenomenon, and we are indeed very thankful for your willingness to share your knowledge perhaps the community have taken things for granted and thus you have such strong feelings. please continue to share about these fishes and hopefully hobbysit can come across them, but i think as for whether they would be excited or not about the fish in discussion would still be their decision. I think sometimes, hobbysits don't deliberately look at every fish being discussed in the forum too, so some of us might miss certain discussions when we don't log on frequently. But i for one became more aware about this fish and did a search on the forums which returned many threads on this damsel. Thanks again
  3. I believe appreciation comes through exposure and sharing or even making aware of such fishes like what bro Fuel did. Cant appreciate something that we are not even aware of in the first place and since fishes like flame angel and blue tangs are widely discussed about with beautiful pictures, it's only natural for hobbyist to lean towards them. And appreciation is a rather normative and subjective matter, some may appreciate fishes based on their monetary value which usually is tied to demand and supply (an indication of what the markets like) or some of us may appreciate the colours (like some wrasses) or behavior (like jawfishes) or even simply based on its shape! (like my wife likes fat round fishes) I have to confess i have never heard of this damsel before but some searches from the web did bring up some information and pictures of it from reefbuilders There is also a write up about it found here http://reefbuilders.com/2010/08/19/chrysiptera-springer/ http://www.freshmarine.com/springer-damsel.html You may start to appreciate this fish, but it's always good to read up a bit more about the fish before purchasing it apologies for the off-topic

  5. Was afraid that they would pick on coco/xmas/featherduster worms once aiptasia are done?
  6. thanks for the updates, let us know when there is no more aiptasia, do they turn on corals?
  7. Any precaution we should take against peppermint? turned aggressive? attack other corals? Does not attack aiptasia after accquiring taste for fish food?
  8. general replacement is around 6 months or more later
  9. All doing well, featherduster even next to mini carpet, also doing well yeah for 6 months, GSP spreading to the live rock it is glued on, but zoas didnt spread
  10. i placed them together, nothing has happened for the pass 6 months. But it's always good to leave some space for them to grow or room to prevent any stinging wars (but zoas, star polys don't really sting) correct me if i am wrong
  11. Dear Houndster, when are you going to set up a new nano tank in your office? I can contribute livestock
  12. It depends on what anemone you buy Some require quite a depth of sandbed to anchor in, some require very strong light, some prefer to anchor their leg into rock crevices, might be good to share with us which anemone you bought That being said, anemone usually move around regardless of where you place them until they find their spot, of course there are exception
  13. how much is the rhizo at GO? cheers
  14. interested in your fire clown where do u stay? cheers
  15. Agree with tunicate I think this is call a remote DSB system whereby you can disengage it anytime easily without the need to scoop all the sand out etc when things goes wrong. Some aquarist mentioned that after a long period of time, DSB could crash the system, so it might be good to have a remote system whereby u can change the DSB after ~ 6 years?
