  3. All the best! Don't lose heart! I look forward to see your new tank, have been a follower on this thread and learnt much! cheers
  4. I am a convert too, spent the last 18 years of my life as a aquatic freshwater hobbyist, it was refreshing to see all these again. The shrimps, the brackish LS, i enjoyed seeing them again. But I don't speak for the rest as they may find it dillutes the purpose of the thread given that this is a marine based community, worse still, some new friends may think that they are viable in marine environment. But I really appreciate Mr CFOh's effort, and I look forward to all his post here almost every other day cheers
  5. These were really healthy and impressive looking. It' not like the "usual" shipment where the number of heads is around 4-5 and unhealthy. Even then, these smaller and less healthy shipments are not common to begin with from my limited time in this hobby. Thanks for keeping us updated all the time mr CFOh
  6. Could you give us some of these websites? I would love to navigate through these online LFS and see if there are any gems cheers
  7. Most of the sites you found find are based overseas with the majority of them in US, they only ship to US states, so it's rather impossible to acquire them from these sites. There is one local online LFS that sells livestock, but they only deal with fishes thus far, it's one of the sponsors here m3morph. How I wish we could order from liveaquaria too
  8. This looks like an anthias, as for the exact species, I am not so sure, but there are many here who would be able to identify it. If this is a deepsea species, they are rather sensitive to bright light, assuming you just got it recently, it might be hiding inside the crevices etc. Give it some time. Feed it well. Dim the lights. Or It might be dead
  9. Any livestock bugging it? Maybe you could take a picture and share with us the placing and a close up of the coral, then the gurus could see if something is wrong with the coral itself
  10. I am no guru but I had similar experiences, hope it helps. 1) I realise sometimes direct flow from the wavemaker discourage the hammer from extending, it could be due to that, 2) I have this naughty bicolor blenny whose regular hangout place is this small crevice which is incidentally too near to a gonipora, sometimes I catch the blenny nippy on the arms from the gonipora whom extend too near to his hangout place, this also discourage my goni from fully extending. cheers
  11. I heard that besides constant feeding, since they are from deep waters, cooler water will go a long way with them? Maybe we are talking about 25C or is 26C alright?
  12. Hi, Welcome to the family, If you can go to Iwarna, there are some test kits for sale, check with the auntie, i saw the SERA test kits were selling for some good discounted price. Not sure though.
  13. hi bro dnsfpl, Should it be bought, could I place a reservation for your next frag? cheers
  14. hi, was wondering if you frequent the pasir ris fish farms? We could trade there, very interested cheers
  15. Hi BFG, you know of anywhere which sells cheaper SPS, am thinking of finding food for my leopard blenny, bought a small colony recently to let it feed, and it was quickly finished , am looking for those normal type cheers
  16. Hi, May I know why you are selling it? And how long have u been using this for? cheers
  17. Zebrida adamsii "Zebra Thorn Crab" The Zebra Thorn Crab (Zebrida adamsii) is known as an "urchin crab" as it is found living on the spines of sea urchins. It has a striking brown and white stripes coloration and a spiky shell. The last two legs are hook shaped to help it hold onto the urchin. These crabs stay very small, under about an inch in shell diameter (not including legs). They will often feed on small meaty foods like brine shrimp but may eat some soft corals and polyps as well. Some references also report that these crabs will feed on the tissue and tubed feed of the urchin in which they host, leaving "naked spots" on the urchin. taken from http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/prod/253971/product.web
  18. ORA sells directly to hobbyist? Or you are ordering through LFS? cheers
  19. Recently the macroalgae in my refugium melted, some turned white too. The C. sertularioides simply melted after a month. The green grapes melted rather quickly after about a week. (apologies, I don't really know the scientific name to that) 1) Someone shared with me that it's due to the fact that they went sexual. Can someone clarify? 2) If I am looking for a suitable plant that would be rather hardy and non-horny for the purpose of nutrient export and as a home for my pods, which macros should I be looking at? (Besides cheato) Thanks!
  20. someone was selling his midas cause it was getting aggresive, but generally feedback on tailspot has been great
