Will take FTS soon..tonight need to clean up the tank and refill with RO water..time for some salty water

The controller just need to be connected to any module via "Y" cable. It is using wireless connection to communicate with all the modules (max 16). Not sure if I understand your question correctly. Basically you want to install 1 module on display tank and 1 module above the sump? If yes, you are able to use controller to control both units.

Pros: 1) Sturdy and nicely finish module 2) Very bright - especially with new generation Cree XML. 3) Module comes with small LCD screen to provide temperature information and LED intensity (in 4 grouping namely A, B, C, D) 4) Passive cooling with optional active cooling (fan included) - Can set fan to kick-in from 40-60c in 5c incremental. 5) 3 types of lens provided (40, 70 and 100 degree). You can mix-match to your own preference. 6) Lens and LED emitter can be easily replaced. 4 plastic screws to hold the bottom plastic plate cover. 7) Tilt-able module 8 ) Controller communicates with each module via wireless connection (up to 16 modules). 9) Preset configuration - Automatic, Dawn/Dusk, Weather, Cloud. Alternatively, you can opt for manual configuration (you can save up to 2 manual configurations if I am not mistaken) 10) Able to update controller firmware and download your friend configuration via mini USB port (I need to confirm this again) 11) Modular design 12) Less energy consumption compare to MH/T5 – 60W per module. 13) Less heat radiation. LED does generate heat but it is not radiated to surrounding. (Hope I explained this correctly). 14) Long life span. Cons: 1) Modular frame (~4 frame tube) will slightly bend if support more than 3 fixtures. 2) In my opinion, ball joint might become loose if tilt too much (I have yet to test this and don’t wish to test it out too). 3) Plastic screw holding the controller to the alluminium plate lose its thread quickly after few rounds of screw/unscrew. (Should provide metal screw instead of plastic) 4) 2 cable clip per unit. Could have provided with 4? After all this is not expensive. 5) Power cable quite thick/big. Visible cable running along the rail and not so nice especially having more than 2 modules. 6) Controller button quite hard to press and it is expensive. For the price, should have provided touch sensitive button. 7) Hanging kit not so easy to adjust height. Coated stainless steel cable makes it harder to move up/down the holding metal joint.

Yeap..i hope SPS love it.. Else this is a wasted expensive investment

Update on previous hiccup with return pump - I have managed to get Qian Hu to check and being informed that the slight humming noise on Eheim Universal 1260 and 1262 are normal. Aquabee pump is not quiet and has very bad head pressure. I ended up taking Eheim 1260 again but dampen it with 3 layers of Insulflex 10mm. To my surprise, it is almost silent now :) New update: Took me over 10 hours to get it fix. Sometimes being very modular is very troublesome. Here you go... 1 LED module. Robust built and modular for multiple setup combination. 1 single unit consists of 16 LEDs in 4 x 4 configuration. 3 types of lens provided - 40, 70 and 100 degree. Optional fan for active cooling (included). Electricity consumption is 60w and the power output is equivalent to 250W Metal Halide. Hanging kit. Different type of mounting kit available to suit your tank setup. Cable cannot be hidden. This is the best I could do to make it looks neat. Clips are provided but not sufficient (2 per LED module). I am using zip tie to hold all the cable in place. Controller unit. This is optional and need to be purchased separately. Controller will provide more functions and able to communicate up to 16 modules via wireless connection. However, this unit need to be connected to one of the module via "Y" cable for power source. User is still able to adjust the brightness of the LED without this controller by dimming via the LED module itself. If anyone got question about this LED, feel free to ask and I will try my best to answer.

Update: I have gotten Eheim to sort it out. I am surprise they called me so quick after i wrote in. Excellent customer service. Gotta give them a thumbs up for this. I might get a defective unit because they said the unit is supposed to be silent. We will see how it goes. I will update again once I have gotten the answer. Thanks all. bellinayu - According to Qian Hu, it is supposed to be quiet.

1250 is rated half of 1260. ~1200 l/h compare to 2400 l/h. Eheim advertised the 1260/1262 as "quiet" but from what I experience, it is still far from quiet. Anyone got any experience to share? Can't seem to find much info about Aquabee 2000/1

Old thread but i guess i need to revive it again. I have tested eheim 1260, 1262 and 1264 and found out that it is not silent as claimed. I tried to reduce the vibration of the pump using 10mm insulflex but still failed to eliminate the humming noise. As for the return pipe configuration, I am using eheim soft tubing. Disappointed with Eheim even I am a strong supporter for this brand. It seems their pump is not living up to my expectation except for the canister filter + air pump. I will be using Aquabee 2000/1 for my return pump. Tested it and I can't hear much noise compare to Eheim. I can hear the humming noise ~2-3ft away from my tank.

copperband - What is your tank dimension? Would be interesting if it works for big tank. I am still a newbie in reefing. Cedricang - I am waiting for my LED lighting to be completed. Apparently need to have light to run Zeovit. Just got my Skimz Zeo Rx + Zeovit starter kit. Will visit you one day to get nice corals from your collection. Onizuka - Thanks for your kind comment. I will keep this thread updated whenever I got new progress and not that lazy to post. Latest update - finish converting my durso piping to herbie piping. Almost zero noise. Very minimal waterfall noise in overflow box which should be eliminated by using coarse sponge. Picture coming later.

Some update. Hanna Phosphorus Checker (Ultra Low Range - ULR) model. Result gotten on the level of Phosphorus /or Phosphate in this tank is not satisfactory. Apparently the rocks are still releasing Phosphate into the water column. I have wasted a lot of water trying to bring down the PO4 further. Though job... Phosphorus 114ppb = Phosphate 0.35mg/L. *SIGH*

What do they feed on (guenther's butterflyfish)? Can't find much info about it

I am using 1x6105 and 1x6055. Might add another 6105. Not going to get Vortech because it is quite noisy. I need the tank to be very silent since it is located near to my tv area.

Yes, I will. Shallow sand bed. Still waiting for the sand to arrive. I have Caribsea live sand but decided to go with Zeovit so need to switch.
-
Eddy Lim - Thanks for the compliment. As for the test kit, I have gotten Hanna phosphorous checker which will be use to counter check D-D P04 checker. About 40-50kg or rocks. Nothing fancy because I wanted something simple. Never scape marine tank before but I am quite satisfied with the result. Totally different from planted tank because placement of corals on the rocks have to be taken into consideration. Still pending for minor plumbing modification. Durso piping is too noisy for me. I am going to modified it to Herbie style. Hope you guys dont get bored with the slow update. I need to wait for some of the stuff to arrive.

yup, that's my dog. I will go over to SG again after my tank is up and running.
-
after my tank up and running...need to visit you to get frags..really beautiful
-
poorman - thats the challenging task. Rock scape cannot be too high too else no room for corals placement. Will create some cave for fishes to hide and more open space. I don't want to clutter it with too many stuff inside (temptation very high whenever i see nice corals)
-
Dry scape. I still need a couple more rocks. Rocks hunting this coming weekend. Top shot. More stuff... Liquid bacteria + bacteria food. ROWA carbon for my fluidized reactor. New toys. Tunze Multicontroller 7096 + Tunze Nanostreame 6055 (planning to use 2 in my tank). The packaging is very modest, nothing fancy and I cannot seem to find any manual. The only paper inside is the one with "warning" for strong magnet. The wave-maker holder comes with rubber to absorb vibration. Brilliant design. Top shot - blue rubber. Position in my tank. Didn't like Tunze design at first but after putting in the tank, I find that it is alright.

Some new additions... Portable refractometer. The grid is extremely fine. Not sure how I will be able to get accurate reading through the scope :? D-D H2Ocean test kit. From bottom to top > Multi test kit (Mg,Ca,KH) > Phosphate > Nitrate Open box - multi test kit. No idea how to use it yet. User manual. Looks like easy to understand but I didn't go through it yet.

about RM2k Let there be light...Added 2 IKEA LED light in the cabinet. Inside the cabinet - side shot Test run using freshwater. Water ripple/wave created by Eheim 1264. I am quite impressed.

Leak test: tentatively tomorrow. If the check valve is not working, I will get it return to the shop. Not cheap >_<
