I use salt mixed. change 10-20% every 2 weekly now. I think it should be ok to add in 1 or 2 hardy fish.

Hi, I strongly suggest Chemi-pure. I had switch my water-change from weekly to every 2 weekly after start using. The rest of media were normal charcoal and filter wool. I did not use any skimmer. Cos initialy doing weekly water change. That should be enough i think. 1 pump is for the internal sump. the other one is to pump water to chiller. For me, i on my chiller 24hrs. But i do know some people on them only on day time and some adjust the setting higher during night time. 1 thing to note is that cyling is very important and add fishes slowly. I think my tank limit is only 5 fishes for now....cos new fish add and die always. so in the end concentrate more on coral and decor. Enjoy your reefing experience.

Hi, Everyone Anyone know which LFS selling below coral..... Species Name: Euphyllia paraancora Common Name: Hammer Coral Range: Western Pacific Ocean: Australia Natural Environment: Shallow environments exposed to wave action General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 74 to 83°F (23 - 28°C). Similar to E. ancora, and rarely seen in the trade. Prefer medium light intensity, will do well under either indirect metal halide or fluorescent, gentle to medium water circulation. Pls help me not to start a Marine Tank
poh34 replied to iori_del's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Start a nano for a beginning. Easier to maintain. Cost is really up to oneself to limit. For me, after initial higher start up cost of tank, i set a budget every month for livestock or coral. This is to control my spending. I dont think i will get bored of looking at fishes swimming around and coral swaying around. In fact, i spend most of my time after work looking at fish tank and start planning. There is always room for improvement. Wife watch drama and i watch fish tank. -
Yes ... get the dottyback out. my hermit and camel back shrimp all never live for 24hrs cos eaten up by dotty back. 2 red fire fish also stress till death by dotty back within 1 day. Very bad experience with dotty back, Is fire shrimp reef safe?
